  • WENIN!!!!

    Are we back on!!!?

    this is awesome!

    love you guys!!!

  • OK 1st question. Is Ethan Strange likely to score more Supercoach points if he moves from 5/8 to 1/2?

    • probably the same if not less.
seems like he was finding his running game (and was getting more confident each game)
as a 5/8. if moved to hals he would be more of a catch and pass type, wouldn’t he?

  • This is so awesome. Come back on and find Reece Walsh and Round 8 Trade Talk. Thank you so much for everyone concerned regarding this website. It is the best !!!
This includes admin and everyone who puts their comments and advice up for others to read.

  • Ha when the page loaded I thought it was bunked and taking me back to Round8 2023!!
    Thanks Wenin and all

    • Pretty sure plenty of others (including myself) through the exact same thing!

  • If Cleary is back I can just about lock in Brooks -> Cleary and Ponga -> Walsh this week, for what would be my most straight forward trades of the year. Please be back.

  • Hi all,

What’s Max Plath job security like?

Can bring him in for Burbo, but worried about him keeping his spot in the team . Not sure when Kaufusi is back
Burbo due back in Rd11 and has a low BE
But not making any $$$ at the moment, where’s Plath is
If Plath plays as good as he has been going , it would be hard for Wayne to keep him out of the team anyhow
Or is this trade to sideways ?

    TU – Trade
    TD – Save Trade

    All comments appreciated

    • Plath looks like the next Hopgood to me, got alot of footy in him and an excellent defender. Plays 13,16,19. Absolute lock for me

  • What’s my next move guys? Have not had much time to study SC this year but have been making trades by ear and feel like they have come back to bite me.

    Grant (Api)
    Cotter May (Curran Hughes)
Ford KPP Crichton (Fermor Smithies Chan)
    Hynes (Cleary)
    TMM (Galvin)
RTS Bostock Eisenhuth May (Strange Schiller Iro)
    Turbo (Teddy)

19k ITB, 33 trades left and 3 boosts.
Feel like my fires to put out are potentially my 5/8, and Ford (just traded him in lol)
    Any suggestions?

    • Possibly need a stronger CTW…Muli, Lomax etc
The rest is fine while the cheapies earn you more cash

    • Haha… I hear… I traded Ford in too… 2 or 3 weeks ago… looks like we broke him
Anyway I am going Plath for him which is helpful with 5/8’s… if any of my 5/8’s play rubbish again than Plath could come down to 5/8 and I grab another 2rf I like

  • Hmm so who’s in for Ponga…TU Turbo. TD Walsh. Not a big fan of Dedwards with Cleary back, nor CNK with no Fogarty. Drinkwater is not looking good as the Cows have hit a wall…and Not looking at Teddy either….especially after the dale finucane head knock retirement
The dollar difference between turbo and Walsh could come in handy too….but I’m looking for points

    • Gotta break the bad news to you Boomer – CNK went to NZ a while back.

    • CNK plays for Warriors FYI I am looking at Walsh myself however i already own Turbo

    • Hey Boomer, you must be thinking of the old CNK when he did play with the Fog…
I’m going Turbo – purely based on who I’m most scared to NOT have and it’s always Turbo.
The $200K difference is tempting, but I think Walsh has a 30-40 in him more likely than Tommy, and will lose kicking back to Reyno shortly.

      • Man…what a faux pas !! Yes derr im an idiot…, CNK Is at Wahs now…hmm maybe CNK is a small possibility for FB!!

        • haha…interesting to see how they both have become such better players once they left the capital – both in SC and NRL

      • Turbo does make a lot of sense and yeah losing the GK, and with Reyno back may also stop Walsh from getting into as many plays as he did when Reyno was out… ie not needed as much

        • 100% – without the little general, Walsh got involved more. But now he can pick and choose his moments. I still rate him highly, but he’s still got so many errors in his game.
Ask me again in 12 months and he’ll probably be at the top of the pile.

  • Thoughts on potential trades this week? Nothing really jumping out for me

    Grant/Lussick
    Cotter/May/Henry/Hughes
    KPP/Curran/Crichton/Fermor/Salmon/Chan
    Hynes/SJ
    Strange/Galvin
    Val/Garrick/RTS/Iro/May/Schiller/Talagi
    Turbo/Teddy

    $291k itb, 32 trades, 2 boosts

    • You’re right, pretty solid looking. I would say 5/8 looks like it could be stronger but there aren’t any 5/8s dominating this year.
Could be a week of saved trades, Wolf

    • Teddy to Walsh be my move… I wouldn’t hesitate as Teddy is not just leaking cash… he is bleeding it, sadly 🙁

  • Looks like some interesting selections coming up at 4pm today:

The Knights are reportedly set to hand an exciting rookie his NRL debut following a long-term injury to Kalyn Ponga.

Brad Arthur is reportedly set to make a shock change to the Eels’ spine with a rookie set to be named in the halves.

Meanwhile, the Sharks have been forced to make a change in their halves after Braydon Trindall failed a roadside alcohol test on Monday morning.

    Source: Fox Sports

    • As a pained Eels supporter I hope they don’t play Gutho in the halves and plug that gap with a proper specialist half.
And the news on Trindall doesn’t seem good at all – shame, after they played so well on Sunday.

      • Apparently Sanders is training with the NRL team this week. However, Phil Rothfield (LOL) is reporting that Gutho’s knees aren’t good and a move to 5/8 is on the cards, with Talagi to fullback. Not long to wait.

With respect to Trindall, he also failed an initial roadside drug test (2nd test result is pending).

        • Phil Rothfield and ‘reporting’ in the same sentence doesn’t sound right…
Who replaces Trindall if he’s out?

  • Love this site great too see it back in all it’s glory
Would appreciate some advice this week

    Hok Api (Lussick)
    FRF: Cotter, May (Moale, Hughes)
2rf: Crichton, Curran, Ekat (Smithies, Burbo, Salmon)
    HFB: Johnson (Hynes)
    5/8: Brown (Galvin)
CTW: Lomax, RTS, Lucas, Arthars (Strange, Schiller, J.Gagai)
    FB: Turbo (Ponga)

31 trades left 2 boosts left thinking of going Ponga, Strange to Walsh, Plath too fund an upgrade of Arthars too Holmes next week

    • I wouldn’t sell Strange… Burbo for Plath sounds way better

    • I like the trades. I think Strange has peaked. His only decent scores have been against 3 bad defensive teams and his next 3 games are tough. But if you think he averages mid 50s then hold and do as TG suggested and trade Burbo.
