Justin

North Queenslander born and bred, Justin is also very much a Cowboys tragic. Rumours have it that his first born son will be named Thurston.

Where to start ….

i dont think so

I’m really unsure where to look too. Cleary? DFifiti? Grant? And then there’s the banner! Lord knows the dark arts involved there.

Brett Sterling

Thinking Cleary. Gives me an easy C option, which has been a big hit and miss for me this year

jnrglover

Anyone else jumping on Luki this week? He looked good busting out 80 for the Cows last week.

Hoffa

But will he play 80 going forward

jnrglover

That is the big question. I thought he was excellent and the did win. But you never know with Payton.

zenguru8

Luki was a flukey last weekend. He’d have to be more consistent before I’d go there again.

jnrglover

You guys are tough to please. He made 39 tackles and had 14 hit ups. He also runs a good line and has an attacking stat in him. Plus, he will play 13 and hopefully be an easy trade to a gun for 17. He will be 347k with a -10 BE.

If he keeps the edge spot this is the week to jump on.

stormers

Agree

ausmojo

Not sure he keeps his starting spot. I’d LOVE to think he does from a Cows position, but just don’t see it happening moving forward. Plus TP is unpredictable and it’s infuriating

jnrglover

TP is frustrating. However, he got promoted through merit, rather than injury, and performed well. It seemed like they played Gilbert as a middle and the two young guns on the edge for 80.

Although, Hess looked underdone and will surely get more mins going forward…

ausmojo

Neame was also missing so there’s another middle that will come back. JTB I think sneaks back in at some point too, so yet another middle. Either will push Gilbo back out to an edge and impact on Luki

jnrglover

Thanks Mojo. The upside is there.
Could be more of a draft play.

ausmojo

Agreed mate, huge upside. I love Luki and would love him to be an 80 min edge. Exciting young backrow at the club and good young forwards. Been a while!

Wallah Hezbula

Geez Cleary losing only 47K gonna make for some crazy “pull-your-team-apart” trades unless you’ve saved the cash to bring him in.

Sally M

The magic number for calculating breakevens is trending downwards as we would typically expect at this stage of the season and is now at 9308 after peaking at 9445 a couple of weeks ago when scoring was lower.

To calculate a breakeven use the following formula

Breakeven = ( ( Players current salary / Magic Number ) x 3 ) – last two scores

eg Nathan Cleary = ( ( 902200 / 9308 ) x 3 ) – 57 – 151 = 83

Trade-a-holic

Thanks Sally.

corsola

Anyone holding teddy?

Kazza

No, really wanted me to sell last week but gave him another week. Will bring in Cleary and move Hynes down until I decide further trades.
Thank you for all the assistance here. It is great to hear the different views.

Tetelestai

Trying so hard to convince myself not to make any trades this week.

Is Beau Fermor a tradeout?

The Pretender

He’s a hold. Not a must trade at all, but could be a luxury trade out. Think hes been a bit flat since his COVID run in, but he did look better last week and should have scored a try.

tofu yarris

Defs a hold, seemed the plan was that he was used as a decoy more often then not

Albert

I’m not sure he’s the season long keeper a lot of people thought he was but I don’t think he’s too much of a concern at the moment.

Sniper

Easy swap to Staggs for me.

Sally M

For me he’s a hold until the round 13 bye.

titansnumber1

was disgusted at the thought last week, but selling teddy? roosters looked pretty ordinary against warriors and this season in general. teddy to hynes seems sideways at worst, but i just know teddy can kill you with a 150 and soft draw next few weeks. what’s everyone thinking?

edit: i have money for moses to cleary and teddy to hynes, plus maybe boost for j king to afb.

James

Teddy unfortunately doesn’t look as effective this year taking on the line, seems to have lost a touch of speed to go around and isn’t breaking as many tackles as years past. Roosters seem to also be working through how Teddy, Keary, Walker, Radley, and Manu can all work together in attack – which is making scores sporadic between them. Considering Turbo/Paps is likely the preferred FLB combo come year end, Hynes is a keeper at HFB and a play in the 17 every week (added benefit of being the Shark’s key man), and Origin around the corner – trading… Read more »

Dicko87

Im thinking of using my second boost this week:

Teddy to Taafe
Wighton to Munster
Bully to Haas

Leaves me with 30 trades left and only 1.9k in the bank. Thoughts?

The Pretender

Mate, that is a massive and resounding YES.

zenguru8

Geez, two guns for the price of one is a bargain. Go for it.

stormers

Why don’t u have Hass

Dicko87

Started the season with AFB and Arrow and was planning to bring Haas in for AFB but then shoegate happened so I figured I’d wait

tofu yarris

2 season long keepers and a good cashy.

Albert

Only have 31 trades left and was planning to hold off this week but JKing and Teddy to Jones and Cleary is looking good. What do we think?

TU: Pull the trigger
TD: Save the trades

ch00nz

teddy to taaffe
Ming to talakai
fermor to suaalii

leaves me with $621k for Schneider to Cleary next week.

could also go Ming to ipap, but I like talakai for the possible CTW upgrade in round 12 and I think he can score just as well as ipap.

do it?

Eels247

Grant (Randall)
Haas Lolo (M King Moale)
I Pap Aitken J King (Tuilagi Piakura Momo)
Hynes (Schneider)
Munster (Illias)
Tupou Lomax Tago May(Penisini, Koula, Nuff)
Teddy Pap

May use boost:
Teddy – Taafe
J King – Fifita
Momo – B Jones

Leaves me 50k 30 trades 3 boosts

TU: yes
Td: teddy – taafe, j King – Jones, Schneider – cleary

The Pretender

Dont forget Brodie Jones only has 3 more rises before Barnett and Fitzy are due back and has already made 30k so may only make another 60-70k.

Markus10

1. Jking->lolo. Don’t want to have to play jking or mking as my second frf. Lolo Lowish be and going up in price.

2. Schneider->taafe. Taafe is a legitimate play in the 17 this week with a big -be

3. Fermor->staggs. Staggs with a -be versing the dogs.

4. Teddy->Cleary. Teddy be124 but has a soft draw and could score ok.

Which trade to leave out?
Thoughts?

James

I’d leave out trade #1. Ming is a safe 45-50, while Jing shouldn’t drop too much cash next week to reconsider options.

Spartan30

Two choices face me .
TU: Kikau to Tass via Tago
Schneider to Cleary
TD: Tago to Staggs, Kikau to Fifita

Current team
Mahoney / Randall
Hass/Ipap/Mking/ Thompson
Talakai/ Lolo/Olak/Yeo/Kikau/nuff
Hynes/Schneider
Munster/ Ilias
May/Penisini/Aitken/Mbye/Schiller/Kaula/ Tago
Papy/Taafe

Both will empty my bank.

Sniper

I went TU, Tago > Staggs is a bit sideways and Cleary is almost a must this week, Panthers at home against a leaking Raiders and Tass looks a good prospect.

Spartan30

Thanks for your advice

ausmojo

Tass not named

staggs

Ponga looked good in a losing Knights team yesterday, he’s got Storm and Parra coming up, after that though, its an easy draw for 4 or 5 weeks up until r13, he’s sitting at 520K BE of 6, now might be the time to catch him at a cheap price.
TU: Schneider, Jing, Tago > Talakai, Ponga, Taafe + 100 K itb
TD: Save the boost, Tago > Talakai, Schneider > Taafe

Bozzin8r

Is tago really a trade out?

Sniper

No he is not, a CTR with a 67ave in the best team in the comp is gold.

Bunnnys56

Only reason i am thinking of selling is 72% owned, and i am sitting in 40K place and need pods to catch up.

stormers

No

ausmojo

Not really keen to chop up Schneider just yet but Cleary is going to get away quickly ….

SD23

TU- Use boost for Teddy, DCE and J.King to Taafe, Cleary and Talakai. Leaves 139k bank.
TD- No boost, Schneider to Taafe and J.King to Talakai. Leaves 101k

The Duke

Trades for this week are Tago (who looks to be about to lose money) and wilton. With the 100k I have in the bank that means a move up for Fermor for Lomax and Wilton out for Aitken.

The Pretender

I wouldnt sell Tago. He might be losing a bit of money, but hes a play every week. I like Fermor > Lomax, I wouldnt go Wilton > Aitken myself I think there are better options.

The Duke

I’ve uploaded my team and my money/trade situation. Any help would be appreciated.

Screen Shot 2022-04-19 at 11.46.23 am.png
jnrglover

I would be trading Roberts to Taaffe via Russell if it was me.

The Duke

Easily done, thanks. If he comes back Russell is a keeper.

Wallah Hezbula

Remaining: 166K

Grant, Randall
Haas, Jing, Ming, JTB
Talakai, Arrow, Tago, Cotter, Tuilagi, Jones
Moses, Schneider
Munster, Ilias
May, Hiku, Fermor, Penisini, Koula, BSmith, Vailea
Papy, Hynes

Cleary losing 47K got me scrambling and probably gotta pull my team apart to bring him in. Think Jing has served his purpose and made some decent coin so could flip him as well.

TU: Find a way to bring in Cleary
TD: Minor trades – Bsmith > Tass, Jing > I-Pap

Sniper

I think Cleary is a must at some point but if you are going to tear your team apart it might be worth finding another way to get him.

BetterThanLego

Moses + Schneider -> Cleary + Taafe

Sniper

I am burning through trades and going to use another boost
Fermor > Staggs
Schneider > Taaffe
Teddy > Cleary via Hynes

I am pretty happy with my team and should be able to back off on the trades after this week, I just had to get Cleary this week before he was out of reach.

tofu yarris

Second 2 trades yes. Not sure about 1st one. Do you think they will ave about the same all year? Fermor had a quite game. And staggs wears an invisibility cloak every so often.

Eric Cartman

Thinking

Schneider > taafe
King > Talakai

Gives me a solid 2RF of ola fifita and talakai

jnrglover

That is my 2RF but I would take Murray or IPap before Talakai at the price he is at now.

Wallah Hezbula

Geez imagine if that was the backrow for Tonga

Eric Cartman

Would be insane he’s. Can’t afford Murray or Ipap
