I’ve got Paps as well… I won’t be trading Cleary out until around 6/7 or until he’s played 3 and that’s assuming he’s going to drop lots. Is Sloan a sell?
He was moved to the wing mid game and looked terrible, he was getting rag dolled and surrendering in tackles, it looked like he didn’t want to get involved. He will drop in price this week and have a big BE against Parra.
At current price I’m happy with his scores, though yesterday’s was boosted with a TA and LBA. Would have been very average otherwise. Was against a Broncos performance reminiscent of 2020/2021. I don’t think we’ll any high scores until he starts playing more minutes, which Payton is reluctant to do.
1,128 pre updates, would feel complacent about my score if it weren’t for the numerous fires I have to put out…

I initially went TD but changed my mind. It depends on why you’re making trades. If they’re moneymaking trades that are setting you up for the season then it’s probably fine, but if you’re using them to go sideways / chasing last weeks points then they’re bad.
Have used 5 trades so have spent some petrol early to get to Rank 710 now with 676K ITB. Coates late out forced the boost unfortunately but Fermor at least delivered.
Only regret 1 trade so far… Ice —> Gilbert after R1 was pretty stupid but I needed the cash for Hynes and wanted another look at Angus and Fifi at the time. Thought the storm would keep Ice contained but he killed it… and no tries yet for him either so a bit ominous. Plenty of chances to slow up if you are disciplined.

Both dummy halves (Mahoney and Randall) aren’t doing it for me so will likely try and make a change if I can. Will stick with Hiku as the attack was run down the otherside for the whole match.
Cheers mate. Certainly not complaining but like anyone you’re always trying to tinker. Previous years I’ve fallen for making too many trades in the first half of the season and then get stuck at the back end. Made 3 last week and really conscious of doing it again!!

Makatoa and Bully are issues because they just aren’t getting the mins and are unplayable. Bully BE 58 & Maka 41 so Bully the sell of those 2. Cleary a big in though and an interesting decision for all of us this week given his price tag. The CTW looks a bit thin so Russell to May should be a no brainer next week.
Yeah, that’s what I’m thinking too… Trying to sort big positions early and then use some of the other trades to fix the BE issues that are going to arise.

The magic number continues to increase due to low early season scoring and player starting salaries being higher than output provided by players in the early rounds of the season.
Magic number is now 9420 after starting the season at 8767.
To calculate a breakeven use the following formula.
Breakeven = ( (Players current salary / Magic Number ) x 3 ) less last two scores

A players salary doesn’t change until they have played 3 games so they don’t have an actual breakeven until the play their 2nd match. It doesn’t take into account their last match from the previous year, but their average score from the year before or the average based on the price calculated for the player this season (players who play minimal games get a discount on their price or scoring average. I think SC Gold comes up with a breakeven where the 2nd score is based on their projected average score from the salary calculated using the magic number. eg… Read more »

Easy week, Turbo+Fifita to Cleary+Grant. Still finished 1170 so not the worst result, it still hurts.

Papi was a play because of the drier track . I’d expect Ted Turbo to score similar if playing in the same weather.

as far as I can tell most people used a trade boost last week to capitalise on price rises, which means they have at most 39 left
I traded first week to Nanai because he started then gone 3 last week because Coates was out

Was keen but the whole Matt Frawley inclusion makes it a weird situation. Ricky is so unreliable with how he uses his bench.
After Frawley’s cameo I’d be surprised if he’s included on the bench.
Probably needs to be playing 80 mins. Cotter is one to keep an eye on at a fairly similar price if Hess is out for a while.
