Yeah pretty good team but missing Manu and a third gun 2RF. I suppose you could run with Tago in that third 2RF spot and hope he keeps scoring tries. Relying on a panthers player for points isn’t the worst thing to do.
Thanks mate. Thinking Manu is the one that got away. I’m not spending 800k on him now especially if he stays in centre. If he moves back to 5/8 or FB I’ll break the bank probably. Agree with the 2RF.

Josh Aloiai, Jason Saab, Christian Tuipulotu, Josh Schuster, Haumole Olakau’atu, Tolutau Koula and Toafofoa Sipley have stood down over pride jersey. @app85https://t.co/ey62XVJ39n

If I chose not to attend work because of an exhibition or display that ‘offended’ me, citing that as an excuse, at best I’d be suspended without pay or at worst asked to find Miltonian fresh woods, and pastures new.
But I doubt it would be put so lyrically. Or Lycidian, for that matter.
The players who have decided to ‘sit out’ this round should not be paid the money that constitutes this week in their overly large salaries.
This isn’t a work incident, it is a PR campaign. In any PR campaign all stakeholders are suppose to be consulted. Apparently Manly failed to consult the playing group which just so happen to be a key stakeholder in the Manly footy club.
FWIW i find nice that the players have stood up for their worldview. Maybe Ian Roberts can change his worldview since Roberts boasts “inclusiveness”
Do they consult the playing group about the aboriginal jerseys or Anzac? Are the players consulted about sponsorship? Equality for all, apart from those?
Those jerseys have a dedicated round attributed to them. Isn’t this a one off just for Manly? It’s not Pride week is it..
Having said that, it’s just a different Jersey every time. to me, I hate all the different jerseys from week to week. Just give me a home and an away strip. The marketing can be done on polos and other merchandise direct to the public.

You can guarantee many others clubs are wiping their brow, thinking lucky this wasn’t us. Whether they would have handled it differently we’ll never know.
A Pride round next year may not work either as quite a few players from just about every club may sit out. No simple solution here to be had
If PVL doesn’t step in and allow those players to play in normal jerseys then I fear for Manly moving forward. Will those players want to play or give all for the jersey and club now?
I know everyone is big on Holmes this week. He did well last week but I am conerned at the way they are playing. Most sc teams can move players between the halves and fulback with duals. I should have sold Calker last week but didn’t so I’ll probably move him on. But to who? The roosters are killing teams with a vengeance and the Dogs run isn’t too bad.

Hey JT, where’s your roundup this week? Don’t worry about that last minute penulty bud! It has no incidence on the Tigers’ season and having Val’s extra points actually helped some of us this week! Lucky we stuck with Holmes and didn’t go for the Cowboys ‘expert’, and get in Drinkwater! Cheers old mate! 😉
Hey guys ideally wanted to trade out a nuff for a gun, doesn’t look like I have cash to do so. 251k currently ITB gives me 427 when trading out a bottom dollar player. Which other player should I look to trade out? Needing CTW & 2RF

6 trades, 1 boost, 121k bank. Trade ideas? Locked into 1st or 2nd on ladder. Thinking of saving for finals as Kiraz and M.King will go well against Knights but do I need to trade to catch Holmes or Haas cheap?
If he is playing in the centres I am not too worried. As we have seen with Talakai (ironically against Manly), centres can be defended against if the players do their job, so a big score is not a guarantee. Indeed, that big score might go to someone else (hopefully Teddy).
With Keary and Walker both playing well last round, the game plan may not be ‘just give it to Joey’. Manu may not see as much ball as owners would like.
Manu cautious after an injury, Ted needs a bludge game to freshen him up. Let the lesser lights shine – Keary, Collins Jwh Radley Verrils etc and Watson.
Was looking at Vc Ted,Sualli but hate thurs night games so i’ll let them run and hopefully score 111 but not enough for a loop

Peter vlandys has said there could be a pride round next year. That would have huge ramifications on SuperCoach and I’m all for it. This drama has shown exactly why there is need for this. The comments on Facebook and even on here by some are very disappointing. It’s an ‘Everyone in League’ jersey to promote inclusivity and these 7 are somehow against that message.
Also after hearing dce say “there are going to be 17 players out there celebrating inclusiveness and diversity”. I wonder how the playing group will handle a bad loss and it ruining their chances for the finals. Could be some infighting, something to watch for dce, Garrick, olak owners going forward.
I agree with this, it could destabilise Manly’s season. I am seriously thinking of going Olakauatu > Nanai plus the fact DCE never passes to Olakauatu, it doesn’t seem like a bad trade.
As a Manly fan, I think the season is done. Roosters will win comfortably and wrap up 8th spot. Like you said, this boycott could create tensions within the playing group. I blame Manly management for the situation.
I commentated above that it would be interesting to see where these players draw the line. Like are they only standing down because it’s on their jersey, would they support a pride round? Either way, I think if they discussed it with the playing group a little better they could have found a solution. I think a pride round would be great, turn the goal posts rainbow and play with a rainbow ball. You could even colour the field (on TV) so every 10m was a different colour.
Great suggestions. These are ways to promote LGBTQ without directly implicating the players of Polynesian heritage. Although this initiative is great, it is also understandable that the players may feel they are disrespecting their ancestors by wearing that jersey. True inclusivity is letting everyone live their truth without judgment.
Watched his interview, and his comments were specific to an ‘inclusive round’ as opposed to a ‘pride round’ – which IMO are two different things. He continues to speak about how he felt accepted by rugby league despite being a migrant, which is another part of what ‘inclusive’ covers. Rugby league is a game for everyone – irrespective of gender, sexual preference, ethnicity, culture, religion, or age. I can’t see any player or fan disagreeing with a message of “the greatest game for all” that PVL referenced to promote this value, and reinforce that everyone that chooses to be a… Read more »
See, bounce this around on a footy forum for a few hours and we’ve come up with a 100x better solution to what’s been put in play. An inclusive round is perfect, sends the right message without politicising the issue. As you say, it doesn’t single out a specific group and can be used to cover everyone.

Good post. I’ve been a little surprised too mate. Want Teddy. What’s a possible scenario to make that happen? Was originally thinking Kiraz > Harris nuff for the funds, just unsure who to depart with? Cheers all.
Option 1 using 1 trade is Manu to Teddy via Holmes. Depends if you feel Manu’s output decreases at centre.
Option 2 using 2 trades is Downgrade Ming and trade Kiraz to Teddy via Holmes. It really depends on who you would be playing in your 17. I’m guessing both Ming and Kiraz will be outside your 17 most weeks. In this option you still have FRF cover in Pole if needed and you have a playable extra player in Holmes at CTW instead of Kiraz.
Can you do Kiraz > Harris Nuff and then Tago to Teddy via the subsequent duals? Or did you want to hold Tago for the match ups? (your CTW’s are pretty deep IMO) You could also make the tough call to punt someone like Lomax, May or Mulitalo but they all have significant upside.
It doesn’t feel like there’s a silver bullet answer but I’d be inclined to suggest my first two trades!

Very good side that I don’t think needs tinkering with, except as you said going Yeo to Cookie, which to most of us is a luxury, but for you it could be a game-changer! Go for it! 😉
Sadly not, all my 2RF/FRF duals are in the front-row, and my nuff (Hosking) is 2RF only. Yeo feels the most expendable of my 2RFs – neither Talakai nor Tago are amazing, but given the flexibility and cover they provide me in the CTWs I’d like to keep them both.
Yeah and you can’t have all the bright shiny toys in the shop! Your team is deffo one of the best I’ve seen, for all round quality and back-up! Don’t want to p*** in your pocket, but congrats on that one! 😉

Maybe use some of that cash to upgrade nuffs to cash cows that will make quick cash over the next 2 weeks and then flip them.
From your team, I can see downgrade options in Walker(if Cody), Lomax, McInnes and Manu(not ideal but he’s holding a lot of cash)
Alternative is to hold off on trades and use them to swap out players as they get injured/Covid/dropped/rested

Not tempted to go King to Cook (is Tofu FRF/2RF yet?)? Maybe not possible?
Sadly not, all my 2RF/FRF duals are in the front-row, and my nuff (Hosking) is 2RF only. Yeo feels the most expendable of my 2RFs – neither Talakai nor Tago are amazing, but given the flexibility and cover they provide me in the CTWs I’d like to keep them both.
Yeah and you can’t have all the bright shiny toys in the shop! Your team is deffo one of the best I’ve seen, for all round quality and back-up! Don’t want to p*** in your pocket, but congrats on that one! 😉
The Finucaine suspension makes McInnes a much better hold IMO.
