Last game Gus Gould was absolutely slammed for being biased towards NSW. Please rate tonights coverage on bias. Story on Slater. Big family showing for Smith (hope vonny wasn’t watching). Post game was there even a presentation of the shield on a stage? Did anyone see a picture of the entire NSW team around the trophy?

With all the talk of MOM – on the other side of the coin, how bad was Crichton? Even taking out that error of his, he was walking on nearly every single one of his carries, and on defense too. Downright embarrassing, especially considering NSW needed energy off the bench.

He was moving in slow motion even on his initial carries. Finished with 38 metres on 10 hitups. That’s unforgivable for an edge forward coming off the bench. Missed five tackles too. No reason he should be gassed since he came on near the 30th minute, and dawdled all over the field after the halftime break.

Maybe the stats updated overnight.
69m from 13 runs
30 tackles, 1 missed.
He threatened close to the line, I thought he looked dangerous, especially when cutting back in and offloading. But yeah on the flipside wasn’t good coming out of trouble and I think the miss was a key one. Not to mention the error. Not his best game but far from embarrassing imo.
I think that there tells you” flock” that you need to do your research better before coming on here and bagging someone about there performance.
Looks like a solid performance on those stats.
Stats aside, simply going by the eye-test, he was poor in nearly every area of the game, and didn’t provide any spark when he came on (crabbing back against the grain at half pace isn’t what I’d call “threatening”) – contrast that with Sims’ impact, who despite gave away a silly penalty, was felt on attack/defense.

After watching that game, im starting to think the non origin players
might be the way to go for run home.
Only exception to the rule would be Turbo & thought DCE might
make a late charge.
I believe origin players will be rested, not performing & injuries are
yet to come.

Gerard Sutton is going to ref every storm game as well, so make sure you back them with a pineapple as well. Closest thing to a sure thing.
This is the third time in recent memeory when the MoM award has been given in farcical ways. Cook has been absolutely robbed. Feel bad for him. At least he should get an Australian jersey at the end of the year. 2016 GF Fifita was the best player on the field by the length of the straight and the Clive Churchill was given to Lewis (one of my all time favourite players) 2015 GF Thurston was given the Clive Churchill when he wasn’t event in the top 10 players on the day. He kicked a game winning field goal, but… Read more »

With so many quality halfbacks priced at around 400K AFTER round 18, where would you rank them all?
-Cleary
-Reynolds
-DCE
-Taylor
-Hunt
I’m on the look out for a third choice half to sit behind SJ and Widdop.
Surely a man made of glass and held together by sticky paper can’t even be ranked 5th?…

#1 – DCE (with Koroisau returning in R21/22, and Hodkinson now being a bench fixture to give Fainu a breather, he’ll have the #1 kicking duties)
#2 – Hunt (up until the last month, he’s been averaging in the 60s).
#3 – Cleary/Reynolds
#5 – Taylor
Cleary if he gets the kicking back is no1 for mine. Previous two seasons he has averaged 67 and 70, and gets a solid base (as does DCE). In a good team.
Then DCE, esp for the last 4 weeks with API back and a favourable draw from memory, for those with trades.
Hunt is a pod option.
I don’t see the relevance of Reynolds or Ash.
I would hold off all of them for now.

I hear the argument re player of series being awarded to Slater but without him in the last two games Qld get a hiding and series is a walkover . Slater makes it a great and competitive series. Cook and Tedesco were outstanding game 1 but Slater was better than both of them in games 2 and 3 . Maloney can’t get best and fairest for series given he got ten in bin tonight though had a ‘Cronk like’ performance in games 1 and 2. It’s controversial I admit but not a totally ridiculous decision .

Cook, Teddy, Turbo, Maloney. Any of those 4 and no one wouls have blinked an eye.
No one (well, most of the comments) aren’t saying Slater wasn’t good and threatening, or saying that QLD were not better having him at the back.. But for him to get Man of the Series, in 2 games, in a series Qld lost, when NSW had clear options who deserved the award, is ridiculous unless he put on truly magical performances that NSW couldn’t contain. Slater is an all time great who doesn’t need token awards. I’m sure he is embarrassed by it, as I remember he was for his first Clive Churchill when he said post game he thought… Read more »

Yup, I don’t traditionally care for Manly, but with those guys I often find myself cheering on Manly.
And what’s not to love about a few brothers playing elite football together like the Burgess bros and the Whitelocks a few years back in Union
