Anybody going to sell Papi this week?

trentmark

Why? He scored 135 last week. The will have rep players returning, and a few injuries back also

red

Because of his injuries not his last score of 49 Trent.
Every time he got tackled he was slow to get up , just looks broken at the moment.

The Duke

The rule is if you can replace a gun player with another gun player then trade. If you lose something in the trade, don’t do it.

Temple Guard

Probably mean…. are we considering it…. Yes always an option but not just now…. SoO and the useless TLT prior to the SoO been even played….will shine a light on it

I was only asking what people thought to get some talk going TG .

Temple Guard

I replied in a kind manner 🙂

Nishikubo

It’s too early to already be considering trading him out. Obviously he looks quite ginger coming back from double leg injuries (and already being made of glass) but we all were reminded of what he’s capable of last week even with the storm putting up a very poor performance as a team. Seems like he only corked his back and injured a tendon in the finger so should be sweet for next round. I’d give it more time before making a move, a knee jerk reaction could end up costing your season.

Russo

He was one penalty off an 100 score this round after not doing too much. Unless ruled out he’s a keeper for me!

red

I didn’t realise a try was worth 51 points Russo but I know what you mean. The week before he was only 4 mins away from scoring 40 so hardly looking like a 900k player.
There is no doubting he can go massive but he looks a lot like when he came back last year .

deb talty

it could be if you add in the line break, tackle busts and the goal he wouldve kicked.

red

2 for run , 10 for line break 17 for try and 4 for goal equals 33 points.

Karma Keg

The default response for any question about trading out one of the top guys. If you’ve saved the trades to be able to get him back in then it’s fine (assuming he’s injured). If you haven’t been saving trades then he’s a hold.

SkiddMarx

If he isn’t named tomorrow I’ll at least be thinking about it.

trentmark

How we all looking for trades? I feel my 10:will run out pretty quick.
My only “nuffs” are Anderson and Burbo (who will go if named on the bench again”
First trade in will be Taps
2nd probably Murray.
Grant and Drinky to follow should set my team up to run home, bar an upgrade of a CTW.

can really see all SOO players getting a rest this week

red

I am reasonably happy with my team but got a couple of players that have to go , Ilias first unless he is out for a few weeks. I kept him the last 3 weeks for a rd 17 number.

kegs kings

I have 13 and 1 boost. Probs sell mcinnes and Tass

BxnB

Thats a really nice no. Of trades to have, well done Kegs

weebs

Got 10, will be going Mam & Burbo for Munster & Nuff this week

uncledami

Pennies pulled multiple players from NSW cup this week…. Falls and SOS both backup halves… few forwards and cupla backs. Expecting majority if not all SOO players will be rested. …. and they are playing the Tigers..
Can afford a loss.. but they still win

Temple Guard

Give yourself a pad on the back with your 3 Amigos…. good to see lol

Salty Former Owner

I’ve got 8 (and 1 boost), and after a full review, I’ve decided that I can’t do any more luxury trading. If Hosking becomes a star I’ll have to let him go.
The only trades I’ll be making for the next four rounds will be injury replacement gun for gun trades.
The real downside is that the deadwood I have now will have to stay for the duration. I can’t believe A Fifita looks like being in my team all year.

stormers

Drinkwater is a massive call

trentmark

I have had Munster all year, but sold a few weeks ago. Have Brown and Mam, will upgrade Mam to one of them 2.
Drinky is ownership is half of Munsters, Cows have a nice run home, don’t have to play the Panthers til the last game where most will be rested

Sheldon

Smith – Koroisau
Papali’i – Tapine – Taumalolo – Arrow
Lane – Kikau – Tago – Crichton – Talakai – Hosking
Hynes – Cleary
Drinkwater – Mam
Manu – Mulitalo – To’o – May – Lomax – Penisini – Andersen
Papenhuyzen – Kennedy

Grant, Cook, Murray, Olakau’atu, Munster, Holmes and Tedesco/Mitchell to get in for
Arrow, Mam, Lomax, Penisini, Kennedy, Smith and Koroisau.

I really like NQC run home apart from the last week but Cody and Latrell look like they’ve got the magic back. Just need 1 or 2 pods, Fifita?

uncledami

Don’t forget Valentines day in R19

SkiddMarx

TLT going to be fun. Papi and Munster watch

j.d.

And Garrick

Krusty180

642…Won 4/5 H2Hs…Close to par ? Sitting 4500 overall

Sheldon

I think so mate.

mower_man

8 left and one booster. Pretty happy with my team though

yearofthebogan

Similar, 8 left no boosts but reasonably happy with the team. If you went crazy planning for Rnd 17 bye week I can see you needing more trades to get your final team in shape. If a decent side had already been assembled 8 feels manageable without any more luxury trades.

Nishikubo

CTW: Garrick, Manu, To’o, Ronnie and May
2RF: Matto, Tapine, Lolo, Barney/Mcinnes

OR

CTW: all the same minus Manu and hold kiraz
2RF: the same but barnette/mcinnes for Olak/Murray

This season has seen CTWs be far more dominant and I’m feeling a lot better about 5 gun CTWS for the run home over a generally stronger 2RF

TU: Gun wing
TD: Better forwards

zen

Who is the better buy for the run home plus this week.

TU Manu v dragons @ scg
TD Garrick v knights @ 4pines.

Comment To’o.

HC92

I think 2to is must have v the tigers. Only problem is that it’s late in the week and who knows whether panthers back up their players.

trentmark

i predict all Panthers players sit out

ch00nz

as a garrick owner im concerned about that hip pointer injury. will he take over kicking duties again? thats the big question

red

Too if he backs up.

JS1999

IPap JoeO Ming Ola Elliott Tago Lane Lolo and Talakai 6th ctw

Overall. Who is the best 2/3 sells out of this lot to go to a Tapine/Murray/Matto/Fifita

Can’t split they’re all so close imo

zooperdooper32

ming and elliot or tago

Jarvo13

Ming and Elliott

trentmark

I think DPPs will be very important soon, teams that have nuffs will be flat out getting 17 players some weeks. Covid going to take out players every week, I’d in rests and injuries.
Elliott and Lane for me

Rare panther

I was considering trading in Mitchell and going against my no grub / dickhead policy. After watching him I’ve decided I’d rather lose than have him in my team. Biggest grub in nrl. It’s a pity he can’t get that out of his game.
Hope papi is ok and Tedesco backs up.

Bozzin8r

???????????????????????

HC92

A bit of a grub maybe. But you can’t deny the passion he plays with. I would do anything to have him on my team if I was footballer.

jonamco

Post your team I bet you have someone worse in your team

Rare panther

Only person in my team that could be in grub group is a crighton, but he’s nothing on Mitchell.

The Duke

No word of a lie, when the dramas around a certain player from the Storm came to light, resulting in the Roosters getting a real halfback for two years, I traded that player out and never brought him into my club again.

HC92

What to do with Penisini!?!?
The fact eels play warriors is tempting to hold but his last two scores have hurt deeply.
I was 99% sure of selling till I realized they play the warriors this week.
TU: Hold
TD: Trade (am thinking either Manu or Holmes)

yearofthebogan

Take Manu or Holmes any day of the week assuming Holmes backs up. They are both long term CTW premos for the run home IMO. Are the Tigers any better than the Warriors and he scored 20 odd. I expect the Warriors to play with a lot more heart now they can go home every 2nd week. Parra play to their opposition.

HC92

Well said mate. Nothing but the truth there. Cheers!

trentmark

I thought about holding all year, but he isn’t a player that will get a massive score.
im trading him to Tapine this week

Criswell

Running 2400 ish. 11 trades no boost

FB. LM and Paps
HB. Hynes and Moses.

Wanna bring back Cleary but Moses keeps on producing . Bit stumped. Will cleary out score Moses by that much to warrant the trade?

swandog90

Short answer…. yes

Baz11

Wait a week. I’d be very surprised if Cleary backs up

SkiddMarx

Yep, I think you can wait at least this week to find out. Mail is they’re being rested, but even if he plays against the Tigers, you’d think he’d be up for an early shower

Pablo Bill

Hynes to Cleary then when Sharks get through their tough draw, Moses to Hynes for profit R21

Sally M

The magic number for calculating breakevens has remained steady this week at 8830, up from 8821 last week.

To calculate a breakeven, use the following formula

Breakeven = ( ( Players current salary / Magic Number ) x 3 ) – last two scores

eg Papenhuyzen = ( ( 890000 / 8830 ) x 3 ) – 135 – 49 = 118

Trade-a-holic

Hi Sally,

I calculate the Magic Number at 8834 this week. Be interested to learn how you come up with 8830?

Thanks.

Sally M

I calculate it against the 25 players in my squad to get it to what is effectively a 4th decimal point. Using a MN within 5 of the one I get calculate will typically be correct for around 98% of breakevens.

Trade-a-holic

Thanks Sal

devil

Thanks Sally.

ch00nz

only 6 trades left but latrell is damn tempting…. am i crazy to run with 4 trades for rest of year? will have 19 guns and with DPP have cover in every single position.

HC92

Latrell is tempting for me too. Im gonna wait one more week before I decide on either trell or teddy to partner paps at FB.
6 trades left is a bit ouch but hek if your team is set up and sorted then thats plenty. Hopefully injuries dont come your way.

Karma Keg

Who would you trade out for Trell? Bunnies have a bit of a nightmare run home, Dogs next week then Storm, Sharks, Warriors, Eels, Panthers, Cowboys, Roosters.

Roosters have Dragons, Knights, Manly, Broncos, Cowboys, Tigers, Storm, and Bunnies. Slightly easier but Teddy hasn’t been setting the world on fire this year. That being said he does love a post-Origin run into the finals.

ch00nz

mam and tass would go for trell.

Karma Keg

Ok yeah, I’d be seriously looking at that trade then. Either Teddy or Mitchell is an upgrade. Personally, I’m running with Teddy, last year he averaged 102 from rounds 19-26. The only year his average has gone down to finish the season was 2020. For three of the past 5 years, his average has gone up by close to 30 points per game to finish the season.

ch00nz

thanks for the stats. interesting. latrells draw is tough, but i feel the bunnies might pull off some good games once full strength. other option is someone like DCE / hughes in halfback and run papy & hynes at fullback. would rather be deathriding hughes and dce though over teddy or latrell i think

Karma Keg

FB is full of so much danger. Teddy, Papy and Trell. You just gotta go with the gut and death ride one of them.

red

If you have 19 guns your pretty much set , get Latrell while you can.

trentmark

He is one tackle away from a suspension. I would hold trades, especially if it will cost you 2 to get him in.
He is a risky play

Radioman

So I am long out of the running for anything in the top 1000 (unless all my players score 100 each week until the end) and just playing for pride. Where abouts does the pride need to go?

Cook – Grant
Papi – ASF – Arrow – R Hunt
Angus – Fermer – Cartwright (not Carty) – Lolo – Tago – Burbo
Moses – Hynes
Drinkwater – Munster
Penisini – Katoa – Aitken – Anderson – Talaki – May – nuff
Paps – Kennedy

$148k in the bank
7 trades & no boosts left

vertigo

Just go for anyone less than 5% ownership putting up ok numbers with a good draw.

Zag your way up the rankings. Hold some trades as most will run out when some players have a late season surge.

Eric Cartman

trade ideas gents? with haas out need a front rower seems to be the most likely option. also will eventually need to upgrade koula but has knights this week so defs a hold.

7 trades 23.8 kITB

Grant/Cook
klemmer Haas / Macdonald Palasia
Ola Angus harris / cartright peoples piakura
Hynes / Cleary
Munster / Brown
May Manu Talakai Koula / Tass Vailea Anderson
Papy / Mitchell

James

I’d consider going Haas -> Uto/Pole (if named) for a safe 40+ each week, and use the cash in the weeks to come on your CTW & 2RF.

Eric Cartman

thanks james!

Wallah Hezbula

Remaining: 65K

McInnes, Cotter
Klem, I-Pap, Arrow, Pole
Ola, Lolo, Tofu, Fermor, Ming, Hosking
Cleary, Mam
Munster, Brown
Garrick, To’o, May, Tago, Koula, Suaalii, Anderson
Papi, Hynes

Thinking of holding trades but would Garrick > Tapine be the worst trade especially if he still has a hip pointer issue?

zooperdooper32

nah garrick hold unless out

Baz11

TU: Teddy
TD: Trell

H2H player so this week not overly concerning

yearofthebogan

Latrell was the go last week because owner’s collected last week’s points (Teddy 0) with the hope as a Latrell owner that Teddy doesn’t back up this week (Id guess 50-50 chance). Head to head on a week to week basis I think Teddy will beat Latrell but only marginally (5-10 pts at a guess) and is a far less chance of injury/suspension. I own Latrell and hope (faint hope) to have a luxury trade in 23 to get rid of him because the Panthers/Cows/Chooks run home is treacherous with the Panthers and Cows clearly the best defensive teams in… Read more »

Baz11

Yeah I ended up not choosing him last week as I wasn’t comfortable with it and he had a BE of 90 if I remember correctly. As a pure H2H player I had already had the win so he wasn’t a must to trade in. I’ve always been of the idea that Teddy was the better option for the run home but their run isn’t markedly better. But it seems my instincts were on track with everyone saying Teddy so far

James

Who would you rather trade out this week for Tapine:

TU: Crichton
TD: Talakai

jezcarr

Does Munster play on Sunday if he’s out for origin and tested positive on Friday?

Trade-a-holic

More than 7 days so subject to testing negative he should be fine to play.

red

He should play but covid affects some worse than others .
