I plan on holding either Watson or J. Brailey until RD18 so I can pick up Grant or Cook for the run home but I must trade one of them this week to get Cody via Hunt, so who goes first Watson or Brailey?
Brailey first with no confidence. He looks tired and needs a break. BUT, if newy can get their team back on the field, he could once again do okay. I just don’t understand what Obrien is doing with Watson. He provided spark at Hooker this week and 5/8 last week. You’d think he’d want to keep one of their best attacking players out there for at least 60 mins. I chose Watson to keep but only because I think Brailey has gotten a lot of junk and Watson is still to have his big game.
In the past, players have said it is easier to back up on the Friday than it is on the Sunday. Starting forwards and Tedesco are the most likely to be rested!
Selling Turbo (with only 13k in the bank) gets me Fisher-Harris with D.P. swap downs and the Cheese for Simpkin. Leaving me with 10 trades, 40k ITB and this team.
BSmith (McCullough)
JFH TKO (Klembot)
Tohu Lolo Tuponua (NuBrown) (Palasia)
Cleary (Walker)
Burton (Hoy)
Nofo Isaako Manu Johnston
Teddy Hynes
Best of all this is from a disaster area one month ago.
With the realisation that the games don’t start until Friday, I’ll find out if he’s playing this or next week. Same with Suuali, so I don’t lose my 4th reserve.
Agree both can go, but we dont know if either will play -Issako got hooked last week and JAC may get a rest after Origin…
Only time will tell. The first one named an hour before kickoff gets traded first.

Hi guys
Is I Pappa a season long keeper now Carty is getting more minutes and Pappa getting rested now
Last 4 weeks 59 69 57 and 53 minutes with Paulo to come back in and Niukore on the forward rotation now
Really depends who you want to bring in instead. 2RF definitely not a keeper. FRF there really isn’t anyone vastly better. Both my FRF are losing money (IPap and JFH) but hard to get rid of either when I still have Leniu and Uto in my reserves.

Wanting to get Holmes into my team.
If named and backs up to play this weekend would it be a better idea to buy him before his price starts to rise – buy before he plays this weekend. Or wait until after the origin series to buy?
I forget the guys name unfortunately as I like to give credit where it’s due. But they did a comparison of holding a bye player vs an out and out gun and you were actually better off getting the gun and having them play 1 less game. I feel it could be the same with Holmes over the origin period. He has Manly, Sharks, Knights, Cowboys are not in a position where they can rest a player both because of depth and position on the table.

What are H2H people doing with Hynes? Should I take the cash and run, even if Paps if out for a few more weeks Hynes’ price has peaked.
You’ll get a clue with who’s on the extended bench when teams are named. Then another clue after the first cut. But you’ll not know for 100% certain until 1hr before kickoff a lot of the time.
Sometimes the team themselves don’t know until game day depending how brutal this origin game is and how many players are nursing bumps and strains.
Wait a week for Tohu against MEL and with high BE. Worth bringing in for NEW, STG, CRO.
Luki is only valuable to you if you either a) sell him to a nuff to reap his $ gains and/or b) you plan on playing him in your 17 during the year. I’d play Dfif, Matto, Curran and Kikau on matchups over Luki. Or are you thinking he becomes a NPR by the end of year?
Only concern is how much are two trades worth to you. I’d calculate what you’re expecting points and dollars wise and play around with some other trades and figure out if it is worth it for you. I’m keen on bringing in Sivo for the next few weeks for points and expect a decent price rise akin to Luki’s rise. He won’t play 17 but his total points and $ are looking better compared to other options such as a Luki. I think getting rid of Luki after 17 is the right option. But for my team I wouldn’t be… Read more »

Looking to get rid of some round 13 deadwood, FRF to replace Nelson who has the biggest BE. Already have TPJ and Ipaps do need at least one R17 option and only $1000 cash
TU: Was thinking go early on AFB when named today. Although will lose cash this week.Sell with Fus to Suali
TD: bottomed out TKO?
Depends on what your planned trades are next week. If you have the money for your trades next week then go early because you will likely keep AFB and rotate your 3 x FRF if you have injury/suspension hence no realised dollar loss.
Otherwise you might need to nuff Nelson and wait for price drop of AFB.
FWIW I’m planning on DPP nuff Uto next week.
thanks nuffman, given ipaps and TPJ are both DPP, I wanted at least one FRF, trades are low (15) and was factoring in exactly what you said above. No realised loss. It essentially comes down to getting one more FRF that plays 17 for the run home, remaining trades then to fix the rest of the mess

How much of a necessity is CHN?
Looking at doing double nuff trades this week (Watson and DFus) to build up cash for future DFif and Grant trades, but do we see him as a play most weeks, or just coverage for the next bye round?
He hyperextended his elbow during magic round. No structural damage, just a strain reportedly. He should be right to go either this week or next. The main issue is if he can get back into the team especially with AFB returning.
Plan for the worst. Hope for the best.
I wouldn’t be listening to Crichton’s comments in isolation. Even if Cleary Snr said the same thing I would still have to wait until game day to be certain noting how coaches and players talk in the media. Part of the game now.
I would imagine Penrith can name 25 – 7 reserves to cover each of their rep players and still have a full 18 on the off chance they are all out. Everyone else similar unless they have 3 or less unless they get special dispensation.
Cheese / Brailey*
IPap TPJ / Leniu James
DFif Gus Barnett / NAS Curran Blore
Walker / Cleary
Schuster / Watson*
Nofo Laurie Kelly Best / To’o Burbo Cini
Hynes / Walsh
16 trades left, 369k itb. Considering stashing Barnett and Best and avoiding playing them until round 20 as the Knights will hopefully have troops back and they have an unreal run home. NAS was a horrible trade need him gone so thinking to CHN or just straight to Tohu. Would really like a Bunnies back as well. Thoughts appreciated!
I’m doing the same with Best. Bought him at a low price for Rd 13 and will play in the back end of the season. Rubbish score round 13 but at least I got him cheap. Was thinking the same as you about Barnett and especially with injuries/suspensions this season. Haven’t heard anyone else say the same. I said it up higher but I’d wait on Tohu up against Mel. I’d go CHN first and Tohu next round. Was thinking KK for next round as well. I’ve gone Luai>Calker and Staines>Sivo. Targets next week Tohu, CHN, KK. You could even… Read more »

Watson. At least Brailey is starting

personally imo this year for the run home we run 1 hooker not 2 in our best 17. brailey is fine until its time for grant
Hey guys, team’s a bit of a mess so any tips would be greatly appreciated.
$111,000 ITB
Brailey – Watson
Pangai, BMM – Klemmer, James
Papali’i, JFH, Asiata – Crichton, Magoulias, Te’o
Cleary – Walker
Luai – Gamble
Isaako, Hynes, Laurie, To’o – Mead, Fusitu’a, nuff
Gutho – Turbo
Thinking about Fusitu’a > Suaalii and Luai > Calker maybe? Although Asiata in the 13 is a big worry.
Just me hoping all the origin players get rested?
Especially from the Friday night games.
Certainly am!! Haha

Is the cheese still worth it if Grant is back next week?
With the realisation that the games don’t start until Friday, I’ll find out if he’s playing this or next week. Same with Suuali, so I don’t lose my 4th reserve.
Who would be more a priority sell
Issako TU
Ado car TD
This is so far this season the easiest TU ive seen
I’m hoping that Issako getting pulled last weekend means he gets a rest in the Reserves for Rd 14, meaning I can sell him next week instead
Like your thinking. Don’t think you can answer TU or TD without TLT.
You hoping Niu to FLB?
Yeah don’t see him or ado Carr as a keeper and both going to drop money big times this week hence the question
Agree both can go, but we dont know if either will play -Issako got hooked last week and JAC may get a rest after Origin…
Only time will tell. The first one named an hour before kickoff gets traded first.

FRF keeper for me. Can’t keep burning trades and I expect him to keep jagging attacking stats
worst comes to worse you sell and make a 200k profit
Really depends who you want to bring in instead. 2RF definitely not a keeper. FRF there really isn’t anyone vastly better. Both my FRF are losing money (IPap and JFH) but hard to get rid of either when I still have Leniu and Uto in my reserves.
I have exactly the same FRF and am just holding IPap and JFH with the intent to take care of Uto and Leniu as and when/if I get a chance
Remaining: 367K
Brailey, Watson
TPJ, JFH, Tino, Leniu
Gus, Tofu, Matto, CHN, Kikau, Curran

Buy this week, I doubt the cows will be far enough ahead of anyone to be able to rest him

BE is still around his average at FB, hold until Papy is back
If an origin player is named, what is the latest we will find out that he will be rested ?
Is it one hour before kick off when final teams are announced ?
Yeah at worst its an hour before… hopefully we’ll get more of an indication earlier
You’ll get a clue with who’s on the extended bench when teams are named. Then another clue after the first cut. But you’ll not know for 100% certain until 1hr before kickoff a lot of the time.

224k ITB; 16 trades
Brailey / Watson
IPap, TPJ / TKO, Uto
Dfif, Matto, Barney / Kikau, KBrom, Curran
Cleary / Burton
CWalker / Gamble
Hynes, Nofo, To’o, Suaalii / Simo, Jet, Mead
Teddy / Gutho
Bit torn as to priorities this week, any thoughts appreciated:
TU Barney > Tohu; KBrom > Luki
TD Barney > Luki; Mead > AJ/Tupou/best rd 17 centre?
Both work, but I would be aiming to get Tohu asap if you go TD.
Wait a week for Tohu against MEL and with high BE. Worth bringing in for NEW, STG, CRO.

POD. Bye coverage. Averaging 64.5 for the season. One downside: has a big BE this week.
good option will consider as well

Curran back this week yeah?
Wacko saying unlikely
I thought he was suspended for some reason. Is he actually injured?

Thanks Kenny, That rings a bell now. Think I blocked that hyper extended elbow out of my head as it grosses me out!
It was a shocker, both live and the replays it was gross. Poor bugger was in awful pain. He will be back soon though !
“We’re not expecting any of the boys to play, I don’t think,” Crichton told NRL.com.
“I don’t think they will and I don’t think the coaches are expecting them to either. It just gives us a good chance again to step up.

Yeah agree… hopefully Penrith make it clear with their team list today (not holding my breath)
Assume it’s the same as previous years where teams with high representation can name 23-24 players in their Tuesday squads?
I would imagine Penrith can name 25 – 7 reserves to cover each of their rep players and still have a full 18 on the off chance they are all out. Everyone else similar unless they have 3 or less unless they get special dispensation.
Team is:
Watson/Liddle

BSmith Leilua Barnett/Crichton Fifita Curran
Cleary/Hughes
Burton/Gamble
Hynes Holmes To’o Laurie/Simonsson Burbo Cini
Turbo/Teddy

I’m really unsure on trades. Was thinking Watson and Barnett need to go
Barnett to Tohu at least. Couldn’t wait to do that as soon as lockout ended!
I can do Barnett and Watson to Tohu and CHN, thoughts?
Lock it in
Really unsure on trades:

IPap TPJ / Leniu James
DFif Gus Barnett / NAS Curran Blore
Walker / Cleary
