Weather here in Wellington is cold but calm. Good conditions now but feels like rain could be on the way.

I agree with SCGBN Parra conceed the most points in the frontrow this year. Although they seemed to have fix this up over the last three rounds only conceeding the sixth most points in this position.

Played Tigers last week and their forwards don’t tend to pick up too many attacking stats,
Radiers – papali had 70
Broncos – Hass hah 76
Sharks – fifi had 90 odd in limited min

Do we know what side Xerri is playing? Maumalo out would only effect him if he swaps back to the right no?

Cook, Brittain Fifi, Haas, AFB, Twal Lolo, Matters, Jurbo, Murray, Jazz, Nikora Cleary, Hughes Ponga, SJ Latrell, Bateman, Maumalo, Ma’u, To’o, Manu, Xerri Turbo, RTS So my 4 reserves currently are AFB, Murray, Jazz and RTS Stick with that? Leaving SJ out in this game scares the hell outta me lol To’o will replace Maumalo if fit after some saying he was in doubt…..Watson out of the loop with this one if true 😆 VC was on Haas so didn’t quite work out so C on Cook(against Cowboys feels like stealing points) or Turbo(never a bad choice) Really need to… Read more »

Opportunity for Hughes to hit a decent score against the Titans and he should see a lot more ball given Munster and co. are out. I’d certainly be looking to squeeze him into your 17.

Almost thinking of leaving RTS out this week…….really need him to beat his BE so leaving him out guarantees he smashes it lol

Murray I can see a try up the middle off Cook this week

AFB is a lock for me against the Eels

Jazz……how do you leave this guy out until he gives an actual reason to lol

I’ve left RTS out at the moment. Sharks are stingy to FB’s, I’m also taking a punt on SJ and Nikora to score some points down that RHS.

But leave him out for Tevaga or Burns?

Wonderful read on nrl.com about Brian To’o’s back story that highlights the death of his sister to cancer, and how he still lives at home and is the main provider for his family. Highly recommend giving it a read. What a guy. I sold him weeks ago, but after reading about his back story I have developed a man crush on him and it makes me want to waste 1 of the 2 remaining trades I have and play him in my 17 each week #toey4to’o

This is my first year but it is brilliant even though I am only playing against friends. The only problem I seem to have now is when I watch games, I quote supercoach points / stats and always look at my phone for updates. Anyhow, I need advice on who to pick for reserves- thinking RTS, Moses, Papalii and TKO and don’t want to trade anyone unless I get injuries. Cook (Mahoney) Fifita / Haas (TKO*, Papalii*) Lolo / Sironen / JFH (Nikora / Buhrer / Nuff) Hughes (SJ) Ponga (Moses*) Mitchell / Ma’u / Burns / Gutho (Maumalo /… Read more »

Welcome to life as a Supercoach NVG 🙂

I’m close mates with a high profile league player / coach and I must drive him mad every week carrying on about SC points and certain plays while we watch the Saturday game at the pub in the background having a punt.

Warning long post I have had three major brain operations in my opinion all players should wear headgear it should be compulsory acquired Brian injury is the major cause of dementia these players entertain all of us the cost should not be shortening one’s life .I know headgear isn’t perfect but anything that gives a buffer to the brain can only be a plus This is my belief Thanks

Whilst I agree to an extent, each player is allowed their free will. As long as they are clearly explained and understand the benefits of headgear, and the associated issues with long term brain injuries, at the end of the day they have the individual decision on what they need for their bodies. The NRL may require them to sign a waiver form of some description if that is the path they choose.

Absolutely it’s a complex issue Your spot on I hate regulations but a lot of the players are young 18 to 20 yrs old and I knew nothing back then

Sorry to hear that Cardy. My understanding (and I have a friend who is a neurologist) is that head gear does nothing to reduce the risk of brain injury – some actually argue it increases the risk since it gives some players an inflated sense of protection meaning they go in harder than they otherwise would. So players wear it to either avoid head cuts or because they may have come through the grades wearing it. As an example, my urologist friend (who often assesses players to determine if they are allowed to play next week etc) has a son… Read more »

That is awful news, and I am wishing you the best of health.
However, headgear would do almost nothing, the issue with head injuries is that the brain is floating in the skull so the damage is actually the impact of your brain hitting your skull (which suddenly stops). Padding the head with a helmet like in NFL, or headgear provides minimal protection to your brain as the speed of the brain moving inside the skull is not reduced, even though it will protect the skull/head exterior.

TLDR, protecting the skull doesn’t equal protecting the brain

Sorry to hear Cardy and i hope you are recovering well mate Whilst i strong support your arguement about something needs to be done to protect the players, i dont think the current headgears are enough to do so. My mrs did a fair bit of study on head injuries through her undergrad and post grad studies and the current option in headgear do absolutely nothing to prevent concussion injuries and long term effects of concussion. There are several scientific reports on this (apparently) that support this. Despite this, i strongly support some sort of initiative to design something better… Read more »

DT reckon BA might drop Taka to the bench as a utility even with his hat-trick on the weekend with Parry coming in as centre. (or Fergo to centre, Parry to wing which seems unlikely to me).
