To put a cap on the Women’s SOO conversation, there were 10,000 at North Sydney Oval last night. The lines were immense, well over 100m, even crossing the street. Every pub was packed pre-game. I’ve just seen the highlights, it looked fantastic on TV – better atmosphere at the game than plenty of men’s club matches and it translated to the broadcast. The football was great. It was 100% an Origin style game, pure grind up the middle for the whole first half. Low scoring contest and when NSW got a sniff towards the end – they made QLD pay.… Read more »
i actually watch both matches so far & im not understanding why they dont just play under the full nrl rules. both teams look good for 80min instead of or even add an extra reserve. 60min is too short. other. 40/30 looks too easy for the blues hfb she might as well do them blindfolded. ended up being 30/30 kick anyways
hey gents using 4 trades this week ATM. have 125k left and not sure what to do for the 5th trade. can only think JFH >Matterson or xerri > mitchell after 16. any suggestions fellas team is :
Matto, Latrell and a Dearden replacement seem to be the most popular trade ins for R16, so I’m surprised to see you’re not interested in any of those trades.
I wouldn’t advise in trading out Xerri. Walker > Mitchell next week

Ok boys I have a bit of a dilemma with my frf = A. Fifita, Haas, AFB & Mikaele So with Fifita suspended & word that Haas won’t play round 15 due to his hammy that means I’d have to start Mikaele when normally I wouldn’t. Would you: (a) Play Mikaele or (b) sell Mikaele however he plays round 16 so this option is tricky or (c) sell 1 of Fifita or Haas & re-buy at a later stage. If I did this I would probably sell Fifita because with Woods back & Uele stepping up then Fifita could see… Read more »
Yes it is. If you run with 6 players in r16, while everyone else going for overall is running with ~ 12 (some may run with less but many running with more than 12)
And each extra player scores 50 on average (reasonable at this stage of the comp)
That’s a minimum 300 points that you need to make over 9 rounds Just to catch up to where you are ranked right now
I wouldn’t use the rep games or origin as the barometer to finalize your team. Most players not named Cody Walker or Latrell Mitchell will lift for rep games. Better to try and keep 2/3/4 trades until around 20. Every year the following happens: A couple of teams and their key players that have been on fire all season find their form falls away. & A couple of other teams and their key players that have been struggling suddenly find their groove and go on a tear for the last 1/4 of the season. You want a couple of trades… Read more »
if you’re h2h and going to make the finals, you want 8 trades, 2 for each round of the finals.
but if you’re overall, I think that 7 is probably too much. by round 20, 4 trades will be more than most people and more than you need as long as you’ve got your team pretty much set up.
Not at all, he won’t be a base beast and hasn’t quite got those huge scores this year.
But is playing in a top 4 side and will score a few pies and get quite a few LB’s I reckon.
Only thing to consider though is that Braidon Burns is due back soon to the left, so I can see Cody taking the play left a little more and possibly starving Roberts a tad.
That will possibly negatively effect his scores in the sense that Roberts doesn’t typically go looking for work.
Yeah I agree Tug, hence why I am keen to grab Burns on return. CWalker should get more ball with AREY back and Burns outside offers more attack, whereas Jimmy doesnt tend to get too involved
he does look happy, i do like him over other centres .
in a bunnies team who can score pts, Arey Surg roberts gagai makes a very solid right side now and a good shout imo
They still go right but only as far as Burgess. He spends half the game in the middle rotation anyway. I’m holding as I don’t see the value in selling him at his current price.
ah right understandable. Hopefully I’ll have more perspective once I’ve seen the teams on Tuesday and how ppl pull up after this weekend, but I’m at the point of considering between trading JFH or burgess to matto
I still see Arey heading his way, It wasn’t until rd10 he dropped off, If he is fully fit and needed (obviously to C Souths leading into finals) his scores without attacking stats, 50, 54, 58, 46 (HIA effected) arent that bad. Further, Cook looks to surgess close to the line, with the grubber or pass.
Games he scored played under 80min he also scored: 68 (66min), 129 (72), 77 (75), 69 (69)
I’m very happy to have Surgess as a POD for the run home. Souths have had an easy draw. I think they will be involved in some close matches in the run home which will see his base increase. Just hope his shoulder is 100%.
It could mean Surg could well be a great decoy and they use roberts pace more.
They could well use the right more as i think the right looks more lethal now than the left does with cody sutton burns graham.
you could be right , i have Arey and Surg and i am trying to keep both .
The issue with Surg is he misses 3 possibly 4 important rounds 15-17/18 in a vital position . lets see what the next 4 game’s bring and what the team lists are come tues
Tpj hasn’t done much tonight but that means nothing in nrl.i think he goes missing in games which is the worry imo.

Hi all, after some much needed advice after two poor weeks. Really wish the super trade round was rd16.
Cook CS9
Fifita Haas AFB TKO
Lolo Jurbo Murray Taupau JFH Staggs
Cleary Brown
Ponga Calker
Xerri Sivo Bateman Nikora Gutho Herbert Arthars
Teddy CNK
18 trades but only $68k ITB.
So looking at possibly only 6 for r16 before trades. Was thinking (pending rep round carnage)
CNK > RTS
Calker > Sj (Probably bring Calker back later on once bottomed out)
Murray > Matto
JFH > Manu (Moves Bateman to 2RF until r17)
speaking of fullback being hard with ted turbo rts ponga , how hard would it be in a couple of years with
B Brailey Cook Fainu B Smith Robson , cook no.1 for now but how would the rest rank in 2021

BREAKING: Origin bombshell. Qld utility Moses Mbye has almost died after going into anaphylactic shock at the team hotel. Maroons doc Matt Hislop saved his life. Mbye had minutes to live. Incredibly he will play in Origin II. @cmail_sport
Yeah structures at the sharks & wealth of ball players I think stunts SJ’s output a bit. The most promising thing from that game though was the way he still had the ability to run the ball like the SJ of old. Tempting…
Opinions on a final team
Cook-Smith
Fifi, Haas- Taupau, Nuff (fr/2ndrow)
Matterson, Taumalolo, Jurbo-Murray Tko Nuff(ctw/2ndrow)
Cleary-Sj
Ponga- Milf
Bateman, Mau, Nikora, Latrell- Xerri, Marsters, To,o
Turbo-Teddy
2 trades left. Should have the time by round 19
I feel it allows me to cover injury everywhere and a really solid 20.
Milf the weakest link but he would barely get a run only when hes playing at suncorp vs a weak team.
Not to worried mate. Im in the top 1k but every time i grab a pod they do something dumb and get suspended or get injured. Probably too far back for overall now too so im hoping this team can smash my mates H2H
on a serious note , when is the vid ref allowed to make a call on a player name with tries?
if this is horse racing and a protest then RTS gets the try , feel robbed and won’t be punting on NRL games anymore. That decision highlight’s what is wrong with the game, amatuer hour once again.

they drew good crowds for the wbbl last season at north sydney oval as well
Doubled the standard Roosters crowd 😆 😆
The thing I liked was the lack of wrestle. Hopefully that never finds it’s way into the women’s game!
i actually watch both matches so far & im not understanding why they dont just play under the full nrl rules. both teams look good for 80min instead of or even add an extra reserve. 60min is too short. other. 40/30 looks too easy for the blues hfb she might as well do them blindfolded. ended up being 30/30 kick anyways
If any of these matches were held in Bris I would be there watching for sure.
Im not sure why the womens teams cant play a longer season and be featured prior to the mens games each week.
Id definitely head down early to watch it.
hey gents using 4 trades this week ATM. have 125k left and not sure what to do for the 5th trade. can only think JFH >Matterson or xerri > mitchell after 16. any suggestions fellas team is :

Mikaele isn’t worth holding for the handful of SC points he’ll earn you r16, if you are going to be short of players for r15
If would trade out Mikaele and Fifita for two players who are reliably going to give you 55 points each in rounds 15 and 16
How much cash ITB?
Newbie overall.
Without trades, I only have 6 players for round 16.
I feel there’s no point organising numbers for round 16 if I won’t use them for the run home & just feel I’m burning trades for nothing.
Is it too early to just organise my team for the run home?
Yes it is. If you run with 6 players in r16, while everyone else going for overall is running with ~ 12 (some may run with less but many running with more than 12)
And each extra player scores 50 on average (reasonable at this stage of the comp)
That’s a minimum 300 points that you need to make over 9 rounds Just to catch up to where you are ranked right now
overall teams will have most of tko, haas, matterson, SJ, Xerri, nikora, rts, Mitchell who are all potential keepers, plus some pods, plus some nuffs.
You should at least get the players considered keepers for the extra round of points, and 1 or 2 nuffs that you’ve used to clear funds.
My team.
Cook Brittain
Fifita afb haas surgess
Lolo Murray Jturbo Matterson Bateman young
Cleary Dearden
Munster walker d
Mitchell Nikora Maumalo sivo
Aitken to’o Allen
Teddy cnk
18 trades $155 k itb
My targets have been Surgess, young, cnk for starters
With Fifita out for r15 & r16 would he be a sell & hold Surgess?
Will be watching rep games plus origin to finalise side.
Thoughts.
Advice.
P. S have thought about Teddy to TTurbo as well…….
Allen > Dual CTW/2RF Nuff gets Bateman in CTW
Young > TKO for Cover in Front row

So, I could do something like this re trades I guess –
r15 maybe 5
r16 2.
r17 – r20 up to 4 trades.
Question is will 7 be enough for run home.i.e last 5 rounds from r21 – r25.
if you’re h2h and going to make the finals, you want 8 trades, 2 for each round of the finals.
but if you’re overall, I think that 7 is probably too much. by round 20, 4 trades will be more than most people and more than you need as long as you’ve got your team pretty much set up.
Well I’m 550 points from top 50 in overall.
Im in 4 leagues but competitive in 2 leagues sitting 4th & 6th. 3rd league has just 10 players.
In need to stay focused.
If these are just random leagues I say go hard for overall. Some of the h2h will take care of itself .
Am I daft to consider James Roberts?
Not at all, he won’t be a base beast and hasn’t quite got those huge scores this year.
But is playing in a top 4 side and will score a few pies and get quite a few LB’s I reckon.
Only thing to consider though is that Braidon Burns is due back soon to the left, so I can see Cody taking the play left a little more and possibly starving Roberts a tad.

Yep, good shout if your a H2H player.
Does that mean Surgess is on the wrong side if walker taking the play to the left.
With Surgess missing r16, is he a hold for run home or sell
Any news on more players moving clubs x 30/6/2019 other than dwz & j Roberts.
They still go right but only as far as Burgess. He spends half the game in the middle rotation anyway. I’m holding as I don’t see the value in selling him at his current price.
Burgess to matto uses too much cash to warrant the trade do you think?
If that’s your only way of getting Matto I would make that trade. I’m using a gun who is at peak value to get Matto. Just not sure which one.
ah right understandable. Hopefully I’ll have more perspective once I’ve seen the teams on Tuesday and how ppl pull up after this weekend, but I’m at the point of considering between trading JFH or burgess to matto
Arrow to Surgess makes me 100k. Which can go to funding Mahoney to CS9.
I still see Arey heading his way, It wasn’t until rd10 he dropped off, If he is fully fit and needed (obviously to C Souths leading into finals) his scores without attacking stats, 50, 54, 58, 46 (HIA effected) arent that bad. surely he would have started running after surgery? He should be fit and raring to go
It could mean Surg could well be a great decoy and they use roberts pace more.
They could well use the right more as i think the right looks more lethal now than the left does with cody sutton burns graham.
I remember from last Yr that Arey used Crichton as a decoy &
swung the ball out the back.
With Johnston returning shortly
this could be the play as Allen @ flb has been disappointing.
Surgess is more effective close to the line re right edge tries & kicks from Areys.
I’d like to know how much time the rabbitohs spend their attack near the oppositions line.
you could be right , i have Arey and Surg and i am trying to keep both .
The issue with Surg is he misses 3 possibly 4 important rounds 15-17/18 in a vital position . lets see what the next 4 game’s bring and what the team lists are come tues
Possibility of K Flanno to roosters. Not really super c relevant but looking likely
should we be trading Surgess? I’m thinking of bringing in TPJ for him for awhile.
Tpj hasn’t done much tonight but that means nothing in nrl.i think he goes missing in games which is the worry imo.

Wowee, glad he is ok
Everyone suddenly trading in SJ.
Has played his way into my team
TPJ asiata and kata defending next to each other , but he has ran it which is promising .
will be popular now after that half
need cover for Cleary. im banking in Johnson killing it for the rest of the season.
can’t argue with that
Don’t pick players based on these games.

H2H with only 2 trades left after round 18?
H2h and hold position top 1k
i think head to head you would need a heap more trades for finals , if you are top 4 then just save trades imo.
not sure overall is relevant unless its a cashie but if you want both then go for it
2 trades is way too little.
Ideally a minimum of 6. Injuries and poor form will decimate your run and you’ll be left way behind.
if this was the bye round there would be a few big scores around , have they gone off early……
Every single player to score any points in the NZ v Tonga game plays R16, hahaha.
Traps or keeper
s hhmmmmmmmm
on a serious note , when is the vid ref allowed to make a call on a player name with tries?
if this is horse racing and a protest then RTS gets the try , feel robbed and won’t be punting on NRL games anymore. That decision highlight’s what is wrong with the game, amatuer hour once again.
Any injuries OTB?
Mau didnt come back after halftime, no word on what the injury is but was down with head and neck problems early in the half
Grrr one of my Pods. Typical.
A few neck problems with players and Manu looked like he copped a cork to the knee .
Mau came off but it might be pre cautionary, mostly good news.
Better option to bring in for H2H plez
TU latrell/afb/kikau
TD Bateman/Matterson/kikau
AFB is the only one that’s not really relevant. The rest would be great buys.
Another frf that is relevant? I have hass, fifi, kapow or just go thumbs down?
Bateman and Latrell are a must for CTW, likely top 1-2 CTW come year end,
Kikau also a great shot as can go big on an edge when in form and looks like he is.
AFB good 3-4th FRF option but if you have Tapow I think that would be fine as he is starting to look good.
Matterson I feel is similar to Jurbo/Lolo and even Murray for that matter. Safe 55-60 with upside. So not necessary in my books.
Could you do Latrell/Kikau/Bateman?
Yea i can do that 🙂
Thanks for the advice………
