The SC Weather Report – Round 8

Weather notes: Some computer model uncertainty is present for the Sunday afternoon match, which may be updated tomorrow (Saturday) morning.

Note: All times are local.

FridaySome isolated showers are expected to develop offshore during the early evening match, with one or two of these moving onshore later in the game, and an almost even chance of one moving over Brookvale (showers are most likely following the match). If there is no rain, a moderate to fresh southerly breeze will ensure there is little in the way of dew on the playing surface.

Brookvale 6-8pm45%18-20CLow-moderate

FridayThe coastal showers mentioned above will move further inland by the time of the Friday night match, with a lower, but still notable chance of a shower at Penrith during the game. A moderate breeze will also limit the amount of dew on the playing surface.

Penrith 8-10pm40%15-18CLow-moderate

SaturdayWhile it will be fine for most of Saturday on the Gold Coast, the highest chance of a shower (35%) is expected in the hour or two before kickoff, as a larger area of isolated showers is expected to move up the coast, from over the QLD/NSW border. The chance of a shower is expected to decrease as the match goes on, therefore if the showers have mostly, or completely moved past the Gold Coast when close to kickoff, the match is highly likely to be fine.

A moderate breeze will also result in no dew forming on the playing surface later in the match following sunset.
