The SC Weather Report – Round 1

Thanks for having me back for another year of the SC Weather Report. I’m a bit busy this week with the storms in Sydney yesterday, and up here in Brisbane yesterday and today, and potentially further showers and storms along much of the east coast over the weekend! As a result, most NRL matches this weekend have a greater than 20% chance of rainfall at any time, so it would be wise to check the local radar just before lockout on each match if you are unsure of picking a particular half or outside back that relies on attacking stats for your reserves!

Here’s to a fun year for all, in this my 9th year of playing Supercoach!

Note: All times are local.

FridayThere is expected to be a handful of isolated showers off the Newcastle coastline during the evening, with a fairly low chance of one of these showers moving onshore and impacting upon the match. Fine weather is the most likely outcome.

Newcastle 6-8pm30%20-22CLow-moderate
FridayMore showers will be present off the Sydney coastline for the later evening match, with one or two expected to move onshore and potentially over the SCG. However, heavy rain like what occurred in Sydney on Thursday is not expected.

SaturdayFine weather is expected for the Saturday evening match in Auckland.
Warriors vs BulldogsChance of rainGame temperatureDew rating

SaturdayIsolated showers in the Sydney region are expected to ease and clear to some degree by Saturday evening, however there will remain a low chance of a shower during the game at Leichhardt.

Leichhardt 5:30-7:30pm20%21-23CN/A
SaturdayThere is a fairly slight chance of a shower in Townsville for the Saturday night match, otherwise it will be fine with a moderate to high amount of dew on the playing surface. High humidity levels, typical of Townsville at this time of year are also expected.

SundayThere is some uncertainty over the forecast for Sunday afternoon in Sydney, however the most likely scenario at this point is for some isolated showers in the region. This is most likely to result in no showers moving over Penrith during the match, even though one or two may be present nearby.

Penrith 4-6pm35%22-25CN/A
SundayIsolated showers and thunderstorms are expected during the afternoon around the Gold Coast, with these likely to ease and clear somewhat during the evening match at Robina, with fine weather slightly more likely than a shower or storm occurring during the match. This will also include a moderate to high amount of dew developing on the playing surface as the match goes on.
Titans vs RaidersChance of rainGame temperatureDew rating
Robina 5-7pm45%23-25CModerate-high.
