If politis gets his way and the competition gets a points restart I’ll be fuming.
He obviously wants his own way to suit his club ( as they all would) but it shows he and Robinson will have too much influence
I agree Perrin, but can not see it happening as the season was postponed and not cancelled. It would be fair enough if the competition was turned into a split conference system but as far as things are looking that’s not going to happen and if so, the pts should stay imo. Both in NRL and SC, well that’s what I, as a fan am hoping for.
I can see Politis’ point… the Roosters were preparing for a 24 game season and made decisions accordingly. Cordener was rested with a view to him playing 3 Origin games mid season… they played only one real preseason game (WCC in the UK). To then turn around and change the season to 15 games, with SOO at the end does effectively make it a different comp. Having said that, it’s probably only the Roosters who can claim that – I doubt the other 5 teams on zero points would have done much differently. That’s also why it won’t happen (and… Read more »
So we should feel bad cos they are using the nsw and aussie captain sparingly and ease him through origin?
The counter argument is they can play him every game now and not need to rest him since they may get less games.
It’s (now roosters can use Cordner) not a counter argument, as it doesn’t change decisions already made on the original goalposts of the competition. What is effectively happening, based on a 13 game ‘regular’ season moving forward, is you have changed the goal posts by 38%. And reality has it that the way the Roosters have been working over the last 2 years is far superior to any other club, including being notoriously slow starters reflective of a different way of working and approach to the season-highlighted also by systematic testing of other players throughout the year to a greater… Read more »
So every club has the same preparation and philosophy towards their pre-season and season? Couldn’t be further from the truth. Roosters have outpointed their rivals on, and more importantly in this case off the field in last 2 seasons, and clearly have an independent approach towards 24 rounds this year with the resting of Cordner.
That’s right the Roosters aren’t the only club impacted upon. Which is the point that Politis made but it wasn’t reported in that manner. Subsequently it then wasn’t consumed by social media plebs and Jo Public in that manner either.
No, but the point is, every club is in the same boat. They’ve all prepared for the season in their own way, expecting it to be 24 rounds plus a bye, plus finals. So no they don’t prepare the same way, but they’re all in the same boat????
There was nothing insinuated about any other club and their preparation, that’s how the media reported it to consumers and, with our inability to filter media drivel, how consumers have consumed it,
1. Points should stand if season length remains.
2. If season length doesn’t remain it should be classed as a restart because of the significant changing of the goal posts.
But its not a restart. That’s the point.

It just sounds like your angry your 0-2 and want a restart so you can have your own way.

Yeah, all teams are in the same boat, because irrespective of how they prepared, they still prepared in their own way for a 24 round season. If it’s shorter, all 16 teams – not just the Roosters – are similarly inconvenienced. Politis’s own comments – where he references the Roosters and what they did multiple times – shows where his thoughts clearly were when he then tried to paper over it by talking about “all clubs and their fans”. So if Broncos, Cows, Titans and NZ camp in Penrith for the remainder of a NSW only season, do all the Broncos players hold their value?
I would say yes, so long as they are still in the 17. Maybe with the exception of issako taking possible personal leave and Lodge taking the starting spot from Fleg.

For me, I totally am for Boyd staying behind as in all fairness, he is at the end of his career and most likely very financially secure. For many people, family comes first and in this situation Boyd is only making that decision based on what’s best for him and his family imo. If that is the case, personally I can not knock him, even tho I have never been a fan whatsoever of Boyd, I support him on this. Money is not always the answer to certain situations.

With Kurt Capewell back from injury “if the game does return” what do ppl think will happen with Yeo? From my understanding, Cleary has tried to sign Capewell on several occasions and has always been a personal fan on him. Surely tho with the start Yeo has had, Cleary would have to find a spot for him. On a fox early mail article for “Rd 3” it has Yeo out of the 17 imo I can not see that being the case unless I am being blinded by having Yeo currently in my SC team. Any feedback appreciated.
Fox wouldn’t have a clue. Yeo won’t be out of the team. He will start on an edge and shift to lock later in the game with Fish moving up to prop. I see that as his role moving forward. He has done that a bit over the past few seasons when he has been fit. Forget 2019 he was carrying an injury most of the year and spent time in the centres. I couldn’t guarantee his minutes with Capewell back. Maybe 55- 60? but that would be a guess. He has the motor to play 80 but there is… Read more »
Cheers Tommy, I was thinking the same thing about fox and their predicted team list. At least he will be a safe hold for a price rise or two and at 60 mins I could see him as a possible hold still. Time will tell but fingers crossed he can hold down a starting spot.

Great news with the Warriors being given the green light to travel to AUS 😀
With ever passing day the NRL returning in 2020 is looking more and more likely and in these tragic times we are all facing, it would be great to have some form of normality like having the footy to watch again.
The qld government don’t think so right now.
Fittler making himself look silly with his comments.
I get he’s frustrated but you can’t bend the rules too much else every business will ask the same thing.
Even if this gets off the ground, I don’t think it will be the same
I think Fittlers passion for the game is getting the better of him – during this world crisis, I do not agree with everything he says but I can not knock his passion. I agree with some of what he has to say tho and imo the competition is not being held this week and things could look very different in 6 weeks “good or bad” and a lot of the QLD government are now backing away from comments previously made about the NRL and their ambitious return date. The thing that annoys me is that the AFL is returning… Read more »
And it is very serious and should be continued to be treated that way, it’s just with all this uncertainty around everything at the moment I know that nothing is guaranteed. I am just one of many hopeful footy fans who is holding on to some wishful thinking and praying to see the return of the NRL to help with entertainment while in isolation but definitely not at the expense of putting anyone and their families at risk of contracting this life threating virus.
Yeah I’m lucky I’m still working full time so no footy has been handy to get a few jobs done haha.
But I miss trade talk and actually watching footy!
After the fires we had around here, it was a big shining light to be able to watch footy which I’m glad It was only on a few weeks and not a few months so I didn’t fully get into it.
Definitely lucky Perrin but it’s good to see people being able to still hold down some employment during this pandamic. I am truly craving for the return of some footy, SC and trade talk as now I have a lot of spare time on my hands and most tv shows do not interest me. We definitely have gone through some trying times as a nation and myself personally, am definitely hoping for the sake of many people who use footy as an escape outlet “myself included” to get that back into their lives as I know it truly is a… Read more »

If I could make up a Rd 3 fixture for me it would be:
Rabbitohs v Roosters
Storm v Raiders
Sharks v Sea Eagles
Panthers v Parramatta
Titans v Warriors
Tigers v Broncos
Knights v Dragons
Cowboys v Bulldogs
Interested to see what other people would have for the Rd 3 fixture if they could. As always, appreciate any feedback.

Would it be daft to trade out BJ and W. Blake for Staggs and B.Hampton or another cheap CTW option?
My thinking is to build a kitty in bank to try and swap B. Walters to Cleary the following week. My other half’s are Moses, Milford and Drinkwater. My other centres are Arthurs, Stimminson, Lomax, Williame and nuff.
Nrl looking to release the revised draw by the end of next week. At the moment we are looking at 17-20 rounds to be played out until the end of September. Finals will be played during October with the grand final likely to be scheduled on November 1st. State of Origin likely to take place 2 weeks later and played over 3-4 weeks so should have some footy till December. Hopefully SC, Fantasy & DT are kind with extra trades and release information shortly after the revised draw. I need an extra trade so I can get my boy Watson… Read more »

In Rd 2 I had saved both of my trades and my team is in need of more then 2 trades for Rd 3 but honestly, I would prefer if the trades remained at just 2.
Just wondering if anyone else feels the same?
TU: Stay at 2 trades for Rd 3
TD: 4-6 trades for Rd 3
I’d prefer the extra trades only because I have guys that are in the team because they were going to get a bunch of games before someone came back from injury and now they might not even get a single price rise. Also guys that were chosen specifically for their start to the season (can cop these ones on the chin though).
But I can see your point as well. If we get 6 trades almost everyone will bring in a lot of the same players.
Haven’t even looked at my side since COVID-19 shut down. Saved both trades rd1-2 but probably would be happy with 6 trade week, even though I didn’t start with Watkins etc who are likely out.
– Watson could be a great trade in
– Flegler looks like a no go now
– JWilliams still needs to be likely sold!
– Burns, unless Bennett changes his mind needs to go
I prefer trades because i bought some players relying on information about other players, and because some have now had enough time to recover from injury.
e.g. I wouldnt have started with Yeo if capewell was fit
I do understand where you are coming from MR Perfect, but say everyone who has those players gets a free trade, when is it too many? – Tapine/Horse – Bateman – Yeo/Kikau/JFH – Capwell – Mccinnes – Fui – Watkins – Flegler/Carrigan – Jo/Lodge – Walters – Brooks/Grant – JTB/Katoa – Tevega/Paasi Then implications if* players don’t agree? Like If all the stories ie Boyd are true? does that make Coates a starter? (Word was he was ahead before groin aggravation) Then How many weeks are the players preparing for before their return? Does someone like Api who was doing… Read more »
I think we should get maybe 4 or 5 trades, so treat it like the super trade week, so you can fix some issues but not completely redo their team. Since no Origin mid-season, we don’t get the super trade week later. My point of view is that without adding extra trades you are punishing the smart people who did a bunch of research in pre-season to find hidden gems, but who are now bad buys due to various factors (mostly injury returns). You may say this is just bad luck, and it is to a certain degree, but leaves… Read more »
With a revised draw, origin at the end of the regular season, possibly fewer games played, Calum Watkins situation, SC teams that factored in injured players not returning enabling price rises on cheapies…the list is long to support a clean start to SC imo.
I got off to a decent start but I am a supporter of the idea to start the SC fresh with all the new information on the table is the only way it can be fair.
Personally not a supporter of a fresh start, as the first 2 rds are counting towards the NRL 2020 season. I honestly believe 4 trades is the way. I would prefer to settle for 2 but I think between the argument for 2-6 trades, fair would be to meet at 4 trades and just like the NRL with the exception of a few changes, we should just continue on with the season, as it was, before the season was put on hold. It just feels unfair for all this who put in all the pre season research and find them… Read more »
What about those that put the effort in and had a great start but are now in a terrible position, wouldn’t it be unfair to them though? Hey Guys, I keep seeing a lot in the media with the debate still going on competition points. There was a recent chat with Ikin about making the points for a win going forward worth more. Not to open that particular can of worms, but has anyone seen much chat on suspensions? The way I see it those suspensions for 1, 2, 3 weeks etc are now far more significant. Personally I think they should stand e.g. TPJ’s dog shot, but he got 4 weeks for that which will equal 1/4 of the season suspended. Pretty harsh penalty considering most… Read more »
Even Paul Kent pointed out that isolation is getting to Ikin. At this point the actual length of the season is still being sorted out and we still could possibly have more then 20 games to play. Currently channel Nine want 17 games including the 2 already played but fox want as close to a full length season as possible. I hope Foxtel get their way and we get close to a full season as possible, so that we can avoid any issues such as – suspensions, 2 pts being worth more now etc.
With the rooster’s complaining about 0-2 start and restarting the comp , what are thoughts of having a table where you get a bonus pt for winning 13+ ? This would give the better team’s an incentive to claw back up the ladder and the weaker team’s a chance to aim up and not give them extra pts. I think panthers worked hard for those 2 pts against the roosters but i also see how the rooster’s approach the season. With a shortened season i believe this would give the better team’s who start slow a reason to come out… Read more »
Every year the top 8 at the halfway point of the season is the top 8 at the end of the year with the exception of maybe one team dropping out. It’s only 2 games. A team like the roosters should be able to make up the gap. If they don’t it means they aren’t good enough.
Completely wiping the first 2 rounds would be ridiculous. Look at the Knights. They’ve lost their hooker and won’t have Ponga for the first 2 weeks when the season restarts.
Think it was catfish who said it on the last page. Why should a team be rewarded for not respecting their opposition. Those early wins are worth more but we also play a top 8 system, the Broncos made it to the final’s last year with a losing record. If they’re good enough they’ll make the 8.
For me its a no, you have 2 teams both win 10 games, one scores 30 points and the other scores 20 or worse one team wins 10 games for 20 points but is knocked out of the 8 by a team that wins 7 games for 21 points.
I am for more trades in the first round back. Just too much has changed, for all we know 6 key players in any of our teams may have had the corona virus and will not be fit to play for 2 years. How many players will come back chubby and slow or get hurt in the pre game training or be replaced dropped suspended for being a dumb Fox or dopey cleary ? You could almost justify saying just start again and pick a full new squad – I wouldn’t want to go that far but do see a… Read more »

Hey guys did anyone get slugged for supercoach gold this season? I think I just did. How do you stop it from happening?
All the DT crew have come out and said you’ll need to call up, unfortunately. Out of their hands…
Kalum Watkins released by Titans effective immediately after his father contracted Coronavirus
It’s bloody awful over there. I hope he’s alright.
Watkins and Stimson – two trades i ca sit on at least if we ever get a restart soonish.
All the best Kallum
The thing that annoys me is that the AFL is returning… Read more »
The qld premier said she hops it can go by November December.
She’s not rejecting the idea, she’s rejecting his notion that this isn’t serious
We definitely have gone through some trying times as a nation and myself personally, am definitely hoping for the sake of many people who use footy as an escape outlet “myself included” to get that back into their lives as I know it truly is a… Read more »
Quests who the second year rookie is in here..
?
Awful news also about Mitch Cronin
Game one of Rd 3 will see latrell vs Tedesco as the Rabbitohs go up against the Roosters
According to Phil Rothfield…
If I had BJ and Blake I would likely be making that exact trade. Both will make good coin and possibly plenty more pts. Not daft at all imo
May 28 looking more and more like a legitimate resumption of the competition.
On a side note, go and get your flu shots for winter.
NRL to return on May 28.
Can we petition to get more trades for this round? Does anyone know when a revised draw is released?
Nrl looking to release the revised draw by the end of next week. At the moment we are looking at 17-20 rounds to be played out until the end of September. Finals will be played during October with the grand final likely to be scheduled on November 1st. State of Origin likely to take place 2 weeks later and played over 3-4 weeks so should have some footy till December. Hopefully SC, Fantasy & DT are kind with extra trades and release information shortly after the revised draw. I need an extra trade so I can get my boy Watson… Read more »
Watson is tempting but he is 600k or so isn’t he? Who are u going to punt to create the freight?
5-6 trades when we get back was the rumour
Not even thinking Sc right now till i know who’s playing and the set up
Any nba fans with Netflix should watch the last dance.
As a 80/90s nba fanatic it’s amazing to see what went on behind the scenes.
– Burns, unless Bennett changes his mind needs to go
But who knows what happens
You may say this is just bad luck, and it is to a certain degree, but leaves… Read more »
Circumstances of the competition have changed, the game must allow us to rectify for those changes.
It just feels unfair for all this who put in all the pre season research and find them… Read more »
4 trades and retaining early round scores for mine. That bit of compensation is enough.
What about those that put the effort in and had a great start but are now in a terrible position, wouldn’t it be unfair to them though? Any teams with players like Fuimaono, kennedy, watkins, guler, flegler, katoa, jtb, walters and horse are now all pretty irrelevant picks/ all will be impacted. Some wont make the 17 so wont make any money, others will lose there starting spot and not be playable when they were before. All these should of made decent coin, but now your wasting the trades to get them out without the benefit. I am sure there… Read more »
Hey Guys, I keep seeing a lot in the media with the debate still going on competition points.
Unlimited trades till round 3 kicks off
Watching nrl highlights and watching the Greg inglis try vs USA. Absolutely astonishing at his strength.
Won’t be the same without him
With the rooster’s complaining about 0-2 start and restarting the comp , what are thoughts of having a table where you get a bonus pt for winning 13+ ?
If they’re good enough they’ll make the 8.
i’m not saying start from scratch , im saying ladder stay’s at it is but add the bonus pts for 13+ for a shortened season.
