moon the loon

Teddy looking more involved already

steamedham

So have Crichton and Fifita both swapped sides this year? Feel like they lose a bit being on the other side.

jonamco

Fifita played right edge at the back end of last season. Angus being starved of the ball tonight

KBB

Crichton looks uncomfortable on the right side, and no ball coming that way. He has 40 mins to avoid the chop.

steamedham

Am thinking the same. They attack left every play

evilmacca

I posted this last week and received some lovely thumbs down.

But yes, Angus was on the left most of last year and dynamic.

If he stays on the right, then I think he is not the first choice roosters backrower … better off with Sitili (not Fafita!)

juggler

Didn’t Angus play on the right at Souths? Should be used to it. Think it’s more that the Roosters pinpointed the left deliberately.

Sherzza

Fifita will be playing off sexton, so I don’t mind that he looks the goods this year and fifita played on that side with the broncos if I remember correctly.
Chrichton also played on the right side at the bunnies.

Regardless Angus still looks busy and fifita still making the points at this stage (looks juicy against ash taylor).

I think you will find roosters targeted the right hand side (left for roosters) for this matchup but teams with a weak left hand side I imagine he would get the same opps as sitili espesh playing off keary

evilmacca

no it was the same last week … the roosters attacked mostly left … same two weeks in a row

KBB

Bully beef off, tastes like a trap.

Peeking Ducks

Where’s Sitili?

evilmacca

HIA

jonamco

If Angus was the left he probably would of scored 100, might have to cut him loose

Stokesy45

I think billy smith and Crichton will be out of my team not liking the amount of ball that goes right

evilmacca

yeah, was tempted to ditch Angus this week … but gave it a second look to see if it changed up … would have been handy to know that he and Sitili had switched sides this year …
Though I’m pretty sure Angus played right side in 2020??? (getting old!) … so its an interesting dilemma …

weebs

Roosters draw really opens up from next week. I know Suaalii is due back but if Billy smith keeps his spot he could be worth holding. They looked a lot better tonight.

Azuz

Tough one. Roosters showed tonight they have points in them, but also that it will be spread around all over the place. Different guys will get the big points each week. Tonight the left attack benefited, and to be fair, any team that doesn’t run it left all day against Olakatu, Harper, Saab isn’t using their brains.

evilmacca

So Des sat Bully on the bench after 31 minutes? I didn’t notice, but no injury? Just hooked? In which case he may just well fall into that trap that was mentioned around him in all the pre-season discussions?

Any Sea Eagles supporters out there got any thoughts / comments / first hand knowledge?

Keyser Soze

No insight
But if no injury he probably become Jking for me next week
Was looking at Russell to either king or Cobbo next week but may pull trigger on Russell to cobbo this week as only trade and boost next week if needed

PnoyBronx

Tommy T is a trade out for me.
Something is off with Manly.
Will pick him up again when he picks up form at 800K.
This is a calculated decision and far from a rage trade.

I agree, bro! You thinking Teddy as the trade? I’ve got Paps as my other FLB

Shtanky

Turbo need more help

Reverse cash cow

crypto cow?

The Beer Whisperer

Manly are slow starters. They were last year. But now they have a run of bunnies to play against.

What’s concerning is they’re not using him. They’re passing the ball to Clydesdales instead of thoroughbreds.

Sherzza

Maybe you forget last year they “started slow” because they had no Tommy T, they didn’t start slow based on their performances without him

Bullshit

MyYfH8sSC

We all new the first two rounds was going to be tough but his next 8 or 9 are why you have bought him! In preseason it was discussed at length about this risk of him having a 250 plus BE for Rd 3. You really need to think before selling. Remember, you didn’t buy him for the first two rounds.

I think Turbo has an injury. No word on how bad. You could see he was tender all game…and slight limp after play-the-ball’s at the end. He was playing so I dont think it would be too bad …they wouldnt risk the golden goose. 50Pts on one leg.

weebs

Turbo with a 400 BE next week..?

Shlapper

Against the Doggies? He could make 300 but not 400. But then I am seriously not seeing him doing anything like last season. Opposition know what to do to lock him down (simply crowd him) and not sure but at times he looked uninterested tonight.

I don’t own him but I am shocked at his performances and am waiting to see how he plays against a “low end team” (apologies in advance Doggies supporters).

Sherzza

The opposition are strangling both foran and cherry evans, once Tom gets the ball first receiver he will be better, but take time to find new attacking shape, he only looks dangerous when their current structure breaks down because he receives the ball 1 or 2 times off the ruck.

central coast crab

Too funny- simply crowd him.
Wow now if it was so easy why wasn’t everyone doing it last year.

vertigo

Six agains being made penalties again in your own half gives defences a rest.

Any reason Lindsay Collins minutes were so low? He might have to be traded out with such few minutes for his price… Looked good when he was on

The Duke

Still getting match fit from a long term injury. He’s being managed I’d say.

Shtanky

7/441 teddy but no c, gonna go fifita risky or haas safe instead, one more thing, and one of the worst banners I’ve seen for a while, they must’ve been stumped?

Shlapper

I’m going C on DFif over Haas this week. DFif on left side against Warriors is simply scary when last week he was not fed the ball and looked almost lazy. I am locking him in to go huge and score a try (at least). Mind you Haas I am also banking to do well as he really REALLY looked nice last week (so stoked I Captained Teddy last week … NOT). I don’t think you can go wrong with either. Using hindsight we know that Turbo (37 atm) was a mega crash and burn Captain, although Teddy (82 atm)… Read more »

Sonnysideup

But DFif was on the right last week

IcePapas

As a very disappointed Turbo owner that planned on trading him, who do we use the cash on? There is no premium priced players that are standing out, Fifita, Crichton, Papi, Munster, Walker all showing they have quiet games in them and they will drop in price as well, and i am perfectly fine with my current players and the cash they are going to make (except for you momirovski). Thinking maybe taking the price drop with Turbo just to have the captaincy and upside over the next month might be the go. Just putting out another way of thinking… Read more »

Shtanky

One of pappy/teddy has to be better than holding turbo right now, or even a pod Gutho like me(hope he actually does something for me this week unlike last because the pod move is cherry ripe for the picking without any of tonight’s two going large!!) and obviously keep a few bucks to bring in Cleary in a few weeks

IcePapas

How do we know that after clearys 2nd game we won’t be saying the same thing “do we trade or keep because of the price drop”. Very optimistic if we think cleary can average close to 108 with the low scores we have seen. And coming off an injury. I think it’s only fair to assume cleary will drop a ton of cash as well making him not a must have to start with. Plus very happy with what I have seen from hynes

Shlapper

It’s already apparent that that the insane high scores (from an individual player) from last season cannot be assumed to be repeated. If you look at the top 10 most expensive players from start of season they are all pretty much “fails” atm. I think we need to ask the simple question, is the new score of 80 the norm again as a high score? Like it was a few years ago. Look at how many 100+ scores we have already through season AND count in the best SC relevant players who have played in those matches and it’s obvious… Read more »

I’ll take his points in a panthers team that is playing like they have been the previous two seasons.

rockafella

Glad I didn’t spend 1.2 on last years points…

Shlapper

LOL now that is simply adding another dagger to the other 18 daggers in the back of those who bought the 1.2 man.

Mind you – high five Rocka I agree

rockafella

I’m buying him for next week …
But I was never paying that to start with .

Sonnysideup

So you are going to pay 1.2mil for him on the back of a 62 and a 37? Sounds crazy but it’s exactly why I started with him. I was firmly in the he’s most likely to score ordinary vs Panthers and chooks and be looking at a cash drop. But then when I crunched the numbers he is still likely to be over 1mil after the dogs game. And I am going to want him. And I am not going to be able to afford him still. Especially if Cleary is coming back around the same time and I… Read more »

Snowy Turk

Agree 100%. Quite a few of us warned prospective owners on here of a serious R1/R2 set-up risk, but we were generally yelled down and TD’d !!! I especially focused on “reversion to the mean” based on a statistical analysis of more than just last year’s anomaly. People see and hear what they want to see and hear. But what surprises me now is all the “bail out” talk – show a bit of spine and courage in your convictions !! Many owners were outspoken in their convictions prior to the season, but are now running scared after two (expected)… Read more »

Eric Cartman

Have you got cash you’ve left on the pine? 500k is alot to bring in turbo with some trades

Snowy Turk
  1. You assume Turbo will score 140+ against all of next 3 or 4 upcoming opponents – won’t happen, and
  2. Won’t need $500k to upgrade from Teddy or Pappy in a few weeks time
Snowy Turk

I did ask for Turbo owners not to TU/TD – aaarrrggghhhh!!! They just can’t “let it go”.

So what’s everyone thoughts one Spencer Leniu? I got into the hype that he will get extra mins due to injury in time but yet again as team rolled out he was put onto bench and Eisenhuth started.

He currently has 62 pts but that is all due to a Try and LB 0 he can’t repeat that each week. He looks like he will have a nice BE and “appear” to make money moving forward but I see huge trap.

Thoughts?

Azuz

Should make about $50-60k fast then level out, unless he bags more attacking stats. Bad luck he was put on the bench. Wouldn’t be jumping on now.

Sherzza

Hmm might be a trade in for me not this week but the one after depending on next weeks score, panthers say Leota is out 8-10 weeks so want to see how eisenheuth plays into his minutes, not a big risk though for a 252k forward happy to miss the first payrise

Azuz

Kiss your season goodbye with wasted trades like that. You either get him before his R3 price rise or you don’t get him at all.

Sherzza

cloudcapable – is my team name, be my rival <3

Nice reply

Super Naught

I was thinking the same, a watch until JFH injury. Potentially more mins for him depending on how long or if JFH is out.

The Beer Whisperer

Never been much of a try scorer. Short term gains only, I suspect.

Watson

He actually scored quite a few tries coming through the ranks, Beer. He might even have scored a hat-trick in his last NYC game.
Really hasn’t been on the field long enough to make a call since movig into NRL but the way he scored the try last night wasn’t your normal bullocking FRF try from 1m out from the line and would suggest he has more in the tank.
as you can see, I’m a Leniu fan…

tofu yarris

As a panthers supporter I get excited when I see him on the field, its a shame Ivan doesn’t see it that way, I can only imagine he’s done something to Ivan. Spencer plays with passion and aggression for the 14mins he gets each week. if Ivan comes to his senses and Spencer gets 45mins a week I think we have ourselves a decent cashy.

Watson

Totaly agree, tofu.

CoG

With JFH out and possibly Sorenson (wrist) in doubt Leniu is firming

I don’t know how everybody else feels…. but I think the rule changes also reduced the freakish scores from last year…. Record Score was 1847 or close enough to it anyway.
It will take sometime for me anyway to adjust to some sort of normality with the scores been more like 2015 or so when 1200 was a cracking score…. I don’t have any stats… but I am sure the SC Gurus will have.
For Now I just work on breaking the 4 digits

The Duke

I’m getting that feeling too. It became way too generous in the scoring allowances. I’m glad its gone back to how it used to be.

The Duke

They say a picture paints a thousand words. In this case it’s close to a million dollars.

Super Naught

I’ll consider Angus > Curren next week.

Always-Hopeful

I’m seeing the same and considering

Do we think it will continue?
was his low score more because Roosters attacking Manly’s right side defenses?
I’d rather run at Ola, Harper and Saab more than Bully, Parker and Garrick

evilmacca

roosters went left last week as well …
Angus scored well last year playing on Roosters left side, not their right side. Sitilli was on the right last year.

It’s a natural inclination of the playmakers (most are right handed) to attack to the left … they pass with their stronger hand – right to left … not a “rule” but it is the case … for me, he wont score like last year on that right side …

But everyone needs to make their own judgement call .

Sonnysideup

For those Turbo owners who are thinking of selling just remember that last year 3 of Manly’s first 4 games were Roosters, Bunnies and Panthers. The only time Manly won against these 3, or the Storm, (even with Turbo) all year was the Roosters in the finals when the Roosters were busted.

The Duke

I’m getting the vibe you’re telling people to sell.

Sonnysideup

I’m not telling people to sell or hold, I’m just saying seller beware because Turbo has pedigree. The inference I was making is that even with Turbo last year Manly would likely still have been 0-4 to start the year. In the regular season when Turbo played, against every team that wasn’t Penrith.,Storm, or the Knights Turbo either scored very well or insanely well. There is a run of such games coming up. Also those that are saying that other teams now have the blueprint of how to shut Turbo down now are forgetting that the blueprint they are talking… Read more »

The Duke

Ah, right. Like Damien Cook has been largely negated for the same reason. I haven’t chosen Tom Trbojevic to be in my side for several years specifically because of injuries and 1.2 dollars being too much to outlay.

Watson

For $1.20, I would have bought him. $1.2 million…nah.

pdiddy

Do we think Schiller has any hope of a couple more games? Looking for a basement price player that still hasn’t played this round to give me more money for next weeks 3 trades.

Open to other suggestions in ctw/2rf.

Sherzza

I mean if you looking for right now, you have

  1. schiller who at this stage looks likely to be dropped but who knows with sticky or if you can move your positions around you have
  2. Leo thompson who looks good but is likely going to be an AE nightmare.

Not sure how your team is structured but maybe the play for me would be to wait until the round ends as one of your higher priced guys may get injured. Sure you have thought it over regardless

tofu yarris

He may get another game or 2 now, but I think he plays more this year…
I feel squads are going to be digging deep this year with Covid and this “head surveillance” catching a lot of HIA out and players sitting a week because they cannot count to their jersey number.

Also somebody may know more but I think Croker hurt himself again in reggies?

jshep99

Got a money league running and opponent used the C on Teddy. I’m thinking either pray Fifita has a big one against the warriors or just take Haas for a safe 60 odd points. Thoughts?
TU- Fifita
TD- Haas
Thanks in advance

weebs

I’d say Fifita is a safe 60 odd points anyway with more upside..

jshep99

Let’s hope, just hope they attack on their right side this week
Thanks for the input
