Played: J Isaako (C- new recruit),I Katoa, J Marshall-King, D Brown, C Gutherson, T Harris (new recruit) C Horsburgh, J Croker, A Johnston, C Walker (new recruit)
Yet to play: R Garrick, G Marzhew and J Schuster
Very happy with all my trade ins this round and the decision to go with Walker to replace Hynes instead of playing one less with SJ.
I want him to, and I assume you pose this question because you have Brown as VC and Garrick C, just as I have. I’m holding because I’d prefer to cheer for a good score than deathride just for the sake of 20 points.
I agree with above. When weekes played , Garrick barely seen any ball. I don’t understand why they don’t put him at the back he’s done well in the past

Does Marzhew out score Dylbags?
Dylbags is my VC, I have Marzhew, Garrick and Schuster yet to play.
Marzhew could go large against a depleted Manly side.
Jake Arthur to start then, no risk. Or at least pop in if Cooper Johns is floundering.

Agree with Gus that the double movement rule should be removed from the game. (Like Union has). Anyone on here know why League keeps it or invented it in the first place?
Would that also mean a player can’t slide out over sideline if his ball arm is on the ground already? I see where your thinking is, but that rule is cherry picking so I don’t know if that is it.
Fitzgibbon’s forward momentum meant that the only way for him to not get penalised would have been to purposely not score, and keep the ball magically off the ground.
He can go over the sideline if there is still momentum in the tackle. I didn’t see the Fitzgibbon incident so can’t comment but if it was ruled a DM they must’ve have determined he promoted the ball rather than momentum taking him over.
The ball was lifted, but as Gus stated, his arm and the ball were on the line whether he lifted or not. The Manly tackler was the main force behind his momentum too. I’m not a Fitz owner or a Newcastle supporter, but think Gus is on to the right thinking – get rid of double movements. If you can get the ball over the line, like in Union, you score.
He promoted the ball before the line meaning it’s a double movement. Gus is a twit. I’m a ponga owner. Was double movement every day of the week momentum or not rule needs to stay. You will have players diving from dummy half on the line all day promoting the ball after being tackled
Never denied it being called a double movement in current rules. Whether you like Gus or not us irrelevant to the option of getting rid of rule for betterment of the game overall. Also, earlier this year they ruled that scoring player’s momentum had him over the line even with promotion, hence awarded the try. Get rid of the rule and there’d be no grey. . .
Wether you think the rule is bad or not is irrelevant just like me thinking Gus is a twit lol
If you read what I mentioned in the above reply you will see what removing the rule would do in regards to more problems. The rule is there for a reason. This is not Rugby. Changing rules causes more issues then the current rules.

Marzhew is so starved of opportunity. No ball close to the line at all. Let him run over the top of Saab and Koula.
OK if my Captain SJ score of 39 drops out of my top 13 players scores do I get my VC? This is messy. Appreciate this has probably been covered already.
If your captain score drops out, VC does not double. You will miss out on the double score completely.
I think you’ll find Johnson’s 39 will be taken as doubled, so will be considered as a 78 point score & won’t drop out anyway.
Pretty poor reason for a send off I agree. There was contact (minimal I believe) to Ponga’s chin. It wasn’t with force, the defender’s arms were wrapping, he never left the ground and lead with his chest in a classic wrap tackle. Not deserved of a sin bin. I wonder if Ponga is untouchable from now on?

Garrick absolutely wasted on the wing when turbos not in the team. Really should be at fullback

He didn’t score well last time Weeks was at fullback. Hopefully weeks gets hooked and ends up fullback at some stage
Agree with Minto

If you think he’s bagging a double go for it
Ive had the capt on him all w.e after missing my vc
Marzhew’s base is similar to Dylbags. If he scores a try he probably matches Dylbags’s 77.
Based off the last time they met, earlier this year, Marzhew scored 102 with 1 try.
Given the scores so far this weekend would expect a reasonable scoring game of 20+ for both sides. Neither are defensive powerhouses.
Comes down to whether your H2H and want the safety of locked away 77 or are chasing the pack in overall and want to gamble for that extra 30+ pts.
Hope u stuck with him
Kicking myself, left the C on Burbo.
Knights: 1-17, Mann (18)
Sea Eagles: Tuipulotu OUT, Arthur IN (bench), Boyle (18)

Isn’t it to do with when a tackle is deemed completed. Once the ball carrying arm hits the ground with a defender in contact they are held.
Would that also mean a player can’t slide out over sideline if his ball arm is on the ground already? I see where your thinking is, but that rule is cherry picking so I don’t know if that is it.

SuperCoach gods reward whinging once again!
Ponga just 3 runs for the first half. 11 points with a LBA. Not looking flash!
Does Ponga keep the forced drop out if it’s at the bell?
I thought it went over the sideline and not in goal
Rarely scores well early. Nearly put Fitz over for a try.
Ponga is killing me.
Feeling better?
I’ll take 85 from any day.
Much better, he had me worried for a while.
Glad switch Miller to Isaako

OK that sounds logical. My 13 this week have already outscored my 17 last week, and there’s still 25 mins to go. Oh yess Marzhew in again!!!
Can we ask for 4
Marzhew is such a gun!
* for supercoach. IRL one of the worst defenders in the Nrl.
I love you Captain Greg. Finally something going right
Garrick, you awake?
This round was almost perfect except for captain Garrick.
Sold marzhew weeks ago. Should probably give up on overall lol
You’re not alone. I did too mate
Not a supporter of either team, but Newcastle have been absolutely gifted this match by the refs.
Manly on the receiving end of several dud calls.
Frustrating as a Schuster/Garrick owner

He is so much better at FLB than Weekes.
Bradman Worst – Killing me
13/1170 vc loop Isaako
Non scoring players were Garrick 50 and Ford 48
Better than most weeks with 17 players
Boom!!! :-0
how are we all scoring? 1142 VC looped Isaako, have no idea whether green arrow or red from 5000ish overall
Hahah yeah that’s a mystery
i’ve enjoyed the general novelty of this week tbh. a good change.
