Luai was very quiet today.

I feel since r4 when he killed it and it took the limelight off Cleary, he has slowly been put back in his shell to let Cleary run the show and take most of the attacking output. Today was the worst I’ve seen it where Cleary kept going to Luai’s side to take 5th tackle kicks.

when he runs with ball in hand from right to left the defence just slides with him

I think it is mainly matchup related. Today the first bunch of tries all came through the middle. And the titans right edge defence did a pretty good job of taking away space and forcing the Panthers back the other way. In some ways the biggest issue for Luai was how bad the overall titans defense was. Most games Luai scores his points on the big sweeping backline moves that go all the way from right to left. It was like the game was too easy for them today so they were just chucking it around rather than going through… Read more »

The way I see it, when either Cleary or luai has a hot hand the other is happy to sit back and let them dominate.

So Mahoney loses TS for dummy half pass try. Cook loses TS for burgess try few weeks ago, still had around 30m and 3 tackles to beat. Cooks keeps TS for near identical play this week. All 3 are exactly the same scenario, except the Burgess one a few weeks back. The only difference with this one was how far out from try line. WTF is going on with hookers scoring. This happens week in, week out. I bet if it was Grant or Brailey it would of been paid 100% of these times. Clean your f…..kn act up SC… Read more »

No way are those 2 Cook scenarios “near identical”… Cook to Burgess all he did was pick up the ball from dummy half and pass it to Burgess who did all the work. Cook to Arrow (I assume is the one you’re talking about this week) he picks up the ball from dummy half runs to the right, draws a couple of defenders and then turns Arrow back inside him to the left who then beats a couple of guys to score. Always going to be a try assist for that. Mahoney to RCG (Is that the one you’re referring… Read more »

How many tackles did Arrow have to beat to score?
I would say he did all the work, all cook did was run sideways. Of course cook will draw defenders doing this, but arrow still had to do most of the work. The pass didn’t put him untouched into a gap.
Very grey are for hooker scoring.

Out of your 3 examples all I’m saying is that the Cook to Arrow would be the only one most likely to get a try assist for as he didn’t just pick up the ball from dummy half and pass it. The ruling on that one will always be subjective as they may say Cook did enough to help Arrow out or go the other way and say that it was still Arrow that did all the work.

It’s not SC scorers. Don’t they use Foxstats? If so, blame Fox and Murdoch. SC are just the messangers.

I thought it was a LB too, but Fox haven’t recorded a LB (nor NRL.com stats). So, it looks like it may not be. Not sure why – maybe, as it’s off a kick?

PS: What a weird round. Sinbins penalties had me irritated and it was looking dire at 10/623 before C Cleary saved my round 1504. But only won half my matchups – par might be sky-high.

For once my trades paid off, luckily decided to go Douehi over Luai due to origin and bought in Matto over I Papalii. C Cleary and 1,590 should hopefully get me up into the top 5,000 for a second half charge.

And a wrong captain choice can take make you fall away from the pack very quickly

1367, could have been more if I captained Cleary over Turbo. Also, Staines and Saab have really pulled things together recently. Made a mistake playing Simmo over Staines

Looks like I’ve ended on 1717.
Previous best round score was 1492 in the first week of H2H finals back in 2019.
Pretty stoked 🙂
