Stilesy’s Late Mail – Round 5

Nothing too noteworthy heading into this week’s late mail, so I’ll keep things brief. The biggest watch so far will be Tohu Harris, who unfortunately plays late in the round. Owners will have decisions to make for sure.

As usual, I’ll keep this article updated across Thursday and Friday morning and the rest of the updates will be over on Twitter @AStilesAuthor

ROOSTERS V EELS, THURSDAY 7:00PM AEST / 8:00PM AEDT

ROOSTERS: 1-17 on the cards here after a week off last round.

24 HOUR CUTS: Sandon Smith, Wong, El-Zakham

EELS: Nothing doing 24 hours out seems to confirm a 1-17 here as well. We’re off to a good start this round.

24 HOUR CUTS: Momoisea, Ogden, Mataele

RAIDERS V PANTHERS,FRIDAY 5:00PM AEST / 6:00PM AEDT

RAIDERS: As usual, it wouldn’t surprise to see Tom Starling start and push Zac Woolford to the bench. Josh Papali’i also found himself playing off the pine last week so I would expect this again, with any of Guler, Saulo or Horsburgh as likely as the other to start.

24 HOUR CUTS: Hola, Mooney, Croker

PANTHERS: Another 1-17 likely here for the Panthers. Nice.

24 HOUR CUTS: Chris Smith, Falls, Jenkins

RABBITOHS V STORM, FRIDAY 7:00PM AEST / 8:00PM AEDT

RABBITOHS: I’ve heard that Izaac Tu’itpou Thompson could be carrying a foot injury which explains the quiet outing last round. He’ll be a watch 24 hours out. I’ll also lock in the usual “Daniel Suluka-Fifita bench” tweet in advance, who like the Raiders could be replaced by a number of bench middles.

24 HOURS CUTS: Hawkins, Milne, Duncan

STORM: Not expecting any changes here, at most we could see Tyran Wishart come back onto the bench as utility cover.

24 HOUR CUTS: Jordan Grant, Jennings, Howarth

SEA EAGLES V KNIGHTS, SATURDAY 2:00PM AEST / 3:00PM AEDT

SEA EAGLES: Josh Schuster’s brother of all people was getting amongst the SuperCoach community during the week (legend!) and planted the seeds of Josh Schuster being out, which has since been confirmed by the club with Cooper Johns replacing him. This delays Schuster’s first price rise by at least another week for those who were looking at bringing him in.

KNIGHTS: Named according to their injuries so expecting 1-17 here, though that lock spot always seems to be a moving target so it wouldn’t surprise for someone to replace Jack Johns on game day.

DRAGONS V DOLPHINS, SATURDAY 4:30PM AEST / 5:30PM AEDT

DRAGONS: Jack de Belin has been named on the extended bench and seems at least a decent chance to come into the side. As I said on this week’s pod, that could really mean anything for the pack. Most likely I’d say he comes in at lock and pushes Bird to the edge and Murdoch-Masila to the bench but given Bird himself was benched last week in favour of Musgrove we could see any number of different rotations.

DOLPHINS: Another 1-17 expected here. Isaiya Katoa has #6 on his back but is expected to take charge at halfback

BRONCOS V TIGERS, SATURDAY 6:35PM AEST / 7:35PM AEDT

BRONCOS: Jordan Riki required leg strapping at training during the week which prompted Tom Flegler to declare himself a 2RF replacement should it be required. Riki seems like he’ll be good to go, but it was an interesting development none-the-less. Expecting 1-17 at this stage. Kobe Hetherington also remains a watch on that extended bench as he eyes a return to first grade.

TIGERS: What a wild extended bench for the Tigers. Expecting 1-17 at this stage but also wouldn’t be surprised with wholesale changes on game day.

SHARKS V WARRIORS, SUNDAY 4:05PM

SHARKS: Braydon Trindall dropped off the extended bench last round due to an ankle injury. While the Sharks normally like a four forward bench, I’d expect him to stay in if he’s good to go as coach showed his hand last week in being happy to bring Nicho Hynes off if the game looks well in hand.

WARRIORS: Tohu Harris is a coin toss chance to lineup according to the coach, which will be a tough wait for owners given the late game this round. NRL Physio expects if he does play he will likely be limited so owners have a tough decision to make. Coach says that if he is ruled out, either Dylan Walker or Jazz Tavaga will take over at lock.

BULLDOGS V COWBOYS, SUNDAY 6:15PM

BULLDOGS: 1-17 looking likely here for the Bulldogs.

COWBOYS: Ditto for the Cowboys, not expecting any changes at this stage.

PnoyBronx

Legend!!! Thanks Stilesy!!!

When do the Warriors generally travel when playing away?
My theory is that if he travels with the team, surely, he plays.
Otherwise, u wouldnt bother bringing him over the ditch. Even if he is 75% fit, with a long season ahead and at his age, he should be rested.
