As usual, the remaining games will be updated Thursday evening and you can follow me on Twitter @AStilesAuthor for the updates across the weekend.
St George-Illawarra Dragons vs South Sydney Rabbitohs, Thursday 7:50pm
No changes expected for the Red V. Tristan Sailor will come on in the halves with Ben Hunt shifting to hooker and Cam McInnes to lock as the game progresses. Jayden Sullivan and Kaide Ellis dropped out Wednesday night. Update: 1-17
From Wayne’s own mouth the Bunnies will be 1-17. Kurt Dillon and Troy Dargan were culled at first cut. Update: 1-17
Wests Tigers vs New Zealand Warriors, Friday 6:00pm
No changes expected for the Tigers with Josh Reynolds dropping off the extended bench Thursday night along with Chris McQueen. I don’t expect Robert Jennings to be a late inclusion.
Ditto for the Warriors, who would also be 1-17. Jack Murchie and Josh Curran were the first omissions.
Brisbane Broncos vs Crnoulla Sharks, Friday 7:55pm
Anthony Milford and Payne Haas were both limited in training during the week but are expected to play at this stage. Corey Paix and Jordan Riki dropped out Thursday night.
Jesse Ramien and Josh Dugan are both out this round, with Siosifa Talakai and Jackson Ferris replacing them in the centres and Draydon Trindall joining the interchange.
Sydney Roosters vs Gold Coast Titans, Saturday 3:00pm
Josh Morris has been ruled out with calf complaint and will be replaced by Mitch Aubusson at centre with Nat Butcher moving to the edge and Daniel Fifita to the bench. Drew Hutchison also dropped out Friday afternoon.
AJ Brimson will be a late inclusion for the Titans after suffering from back fractures. I expect he’ll be eased back from the interchange with Tanah Boyd the most likely to make way. Sam Lisone dropped out 24 hours out and has currently been replaced by Sam Stone, but this could change to Brimson on game day. Erin Clarke also dropped out.
North Queensland Cowboys vs Canberra Raiders, Saturday 5:30pm
The hits keep coming for the Cowboys with Josh McGuire scratched at the judiciary with Francis Molo to replace him at prop with Ben Hampton likely to join the interchange. Daejarn Asi has also been ruled out and has presently been replaced by Mitch Dunn, however John Asiata is a chance to return from injury in the halves.
Both Josh Papalii and Joe Tapine have been cleared to play for the Raiders after being granted a medical exemption from the flu shot by the QLD government. Looks like they won’t need to give fake names to get across the border. No changes expected.
Manly Sea Eagles vs Penrith Panthers, Saturday 7:35pm
Dylan Walker is a chance to return this round from injury however Jakey Turbo said he trained with the rehab group during the week. If he does return, Cade Cust likely reverts to bench utility with Lachlan Croker dropping out. Joel Thompson is also in doubt with an ankle injury and will be replaced by Corey Waddell if ruled out.
I can’t find anything definitive on Api Koroisau’s return this round with even the Panthers forums unsure. Looks like captain’s run will be key as usual. Charlie Staines is also a chance to replace Malakai Watene-Zelezniak on the wing.
Canterbury Bulldogs vs Parramatta Eels, Sunday 2:00pm
No changes expected for the Dogs, should be 1-17.
Oh Matto, you late mail nightmare. He looks likely to play right now though still has some concussion protocols to pass. The 10 day turnaround helps him a ton here. Andrew Davey would replace him on the edge with Brad Takarangi joining the bench should the worst come to pass. BA generally doesn’t mess around with teams so we should know Saturday.
Melbourne Storm vs Newcastle Knights, Sunday 4:05pm
Cameron Munster should be good to go this round despite failing to finish last week’s game. He trained during the week and the rumours seem to have come from the game odds shortening, which was combined with him not seeing out the game last week. Storm should be 1-17, with the weekly disclaimer that a switch in the pack somewhere is likely.
The Knights also appear likely to run out 1-17.
