Stilesy’s Late Mail – Round 11

It’s Suaalii time. After so much hype we can finally see what the kid can do as he is set to debut against the Broncos in what shapes to be the biggest talking point this round.

As usual I’ll be tweeting all the 24 hour and game day mail @AStilesAuthor and best of luck for Round 11!

WARRIORS V TIGERS, FRIDAY 6:00PM

Warriors: Big changes for the Warriors with Ken Maumalo dropping out of the side Thursday night which shifts Roger Tuivasa-Sheck to the wing, Reece Walsh to fullback and Eliesa Katoa to the bench. Marcelo Montoya is listed in the casualty ward with a knee injury but that Maumalo dropped out speaks to his availability. Sean O’Sullivan was the other player omitted.

Tigers: Should be 1-17. Stefano Utoikamanu and Tom Amone were the first cut.

SHARKS V DRAGONS, FRIDAY 7:55PM

Sharks: Shaun Johnson will not be a late inclusion into the side with the halfback dropping out Thursday night. Andrew Fifita has been ruled out however and has been replaced on the bench by Billy Magoulias.

Dragons: Gerard Beale and Hayden Lomax dropped out of the squad Thursday night with no changes expected.

TITANS V BULLDOGS, SATURDAY 3:00PM

Titans: Ash Taylor won’t return from injury this round after being trimmed 24 hours out along with Toby Sexton. Should be 1-17.

Bulldogs: Dylan Napa has had a few false starts as he tries to return from a shoulder injury but hopefully this is his week. If he’s right they should run out as is. Tuipulotu Katoa, Joe Stimson and Kyle Flanagan all dropped out Friday afternoon, with Watson Heleta promoted to the extended bench.

ROOSTERS V BRONCOS, SATURDAY 5:30PM

Roosters: Joseph Suaalii will make his long awaited debut this round at centre in place of Josh Morris, who is being rested. There has been talk of Sam Walker being rested too but I haven’t seen anything to suggest that will happen with the news it will be Morris making way for Suaalii.

Broncos: Herbie Farnworth dropped out of the squad mid-week with a minor hamstring complaint that could keep him out a couple of weeks. Dale Copley has replaced him at centre and an exemption has been granted for Richie Kennar to join the extended squad. No other changes expected.

RAIDERS V STORM, SATURDAY 7:35PM

Raiders: Ryan Sutton has been named to return from his elbow injury on the earlier side of his estimate but will have to tick the final boxes at captain’s run. Presumably either of Sia Soliola or Siliva Havili would replace him on the bench if he’s ruled out. No other changes expected.

Storm: Amongst the discussion about the Storm’s kicking form (or lack thereof), the general feeling on Storm forums is that Cooper Johns will replace Chris Lewis in the halves on game day with no other changes expected.

RABBITOHS V PANTHERS, SUNDAY 2:00PM

Rabbitohs: Campbell Graham is named on the extended bench and will presumably need to tick the boxes over the weekend to return to the side in place of Braidon Burns, who has been filling in his position while he’s been out. The rest of the side should run out as is.

Panthers: Tyrone May could be a late out with concussion symptoms and will be replaced by Mitch Kenny if he’s ruled out in the only change expected.

EELS V SEA EAGLES, SUNDAY 4:05PM

Eels: Should be 1-17.

Sea Eagles: I’ve already got my weekly “Keppie prop, Taupau bench” tweet in the barrel and Cade Cust has been ruled out with a leg injury, meaning Karl Lawton comes into the squad.
