TU: L.Knight & Lucy
TD: A.Fifita & Su’a
Bear in mind, I do have high regard for A.Fifita (Yes concern over his knee) but he is a proven gun and first year without Gal.
Cheers!
I’m looking at the Newcastle team and I’m not liking what I see to be honest. My gut tells me they are going to struggle. I just can’t see that team competing week in, week out. Are they actually better than last year? I guess they can’t be worse… I know Pong is still a star player and Pearce is very good, but Mann looked bad at 5/8 last week with balls hitting the ground. Their outside backs are well down the pecking order as well. Klem is strong up front, but many other teams have far more dynamic FR… Read more »
So long as Ponga is kicking goals, I’m sticking with him. Even though I have a soft spot for the Knights (having lived in Newcastle), I think they’ll struggle to make the eight.
They really didn’t look any different from last year, if not worse, in what I saw of the trial vs Dragons, all be it without Ponga. Pearce still demanded most of the ball and went himself more often than not.
I love the Knights and Ponga but I’m most likely gonna start with Turbo.
The middle forwards were quality last year & Brailey is a good addition, first time in years they will have consistent good service out of dummy half.
Edges have been the main issue though, in both attack & defense. Failure to build combinations. With Best, Moga, Sione injured already & likely musical chairs at 5/8 I can’t see that improving this year.
Cool, we should know in the next few days if Hoy is a chance then.
Think it was more Matty’s opinion tbh rather than any mail, word out of the offseason has been Hoy training as a Ponga backup for over origin, would take the 30th spot on the roster at that point in time.

Who goes to fix my centres, as will probably be required, out of JWilliams and Su’A? Whoever stays will be in my 17.
WARNING- LONG POST. Requested by “OnTheBus”. Hooker: Harry Grant – $184,900 – Only if he gets a release from Storm. Billy Walters (HFB) – $201,000 – Favourite for Hooker position. Blayke Brailey – $201,000 – Chance for 80 minutes. Front Row Forward: Keaon Koloamantangi (2RF) – $171,900 – Chance for a bench spot. Stefano Utoikamanu – $171,900 – Few injuries away from a bench spot. Toby Rudolf – $171,900 – Good chance for a bench spot. Ethan Bullemor – $171,900 – Good chance for a bench spot if Joe Ofahengaue is suspended/An injury away from First Grade. Highly rated. Passami… Read more »
Although that information comes with credible sources, I wouldn’t ever bet on his return. Batemen is the type of guy to return back weeks early without any hints or leaks.
ok Final decisions on my ctw please vote as im so confused on what combo

2 blake Ramien Yeo lomax -kennedy

Wacko reporting Katoa to start SRF for warriors. Behind DT paywall.
Via Wacko –
The only expected change is for Adam Blair to shift back to the bench, as in the Warriors’ final trial, with rookie Eliesa Katoa to start at left second-row.
Josh Curran (calf) and Agnatius Paasi are both listed to return from respective injuries in Round 2.

I did bear that in mind Joe as I still went TU… 😉

pierce is the one that scared me off of Ponga
last year he wanted the ball in his hands too many times which stifled the knights attack quite often

Matty john’s saying he wouldn’t be surprised if Tex hoy had a crack at number 6
The middle forwards were quality last year & Brailey is a good addition, first time in years they will have consistent good service out of dummy half.

In that 7-12 bracket of teams again.
Who will drop Luai for Tex if named to start rd 1 alongside Pearce?? Johns saying he is the smokey… would free up around 80K??
I would. Would allow me to upgrade Kurt Mann to someone who isn’t Kurt Mann
Wouldn’t get excited about Tex yet unless his been upgraded to top 30 contracted list . Was in development squad
When do teams have to have 29 of their 30 roster spots filled, will it be before rd1 kick off?
Knights have 27 at the moment I think.
Clubs have until March 1 to name 29 players for the coming season, with the final roster spot to be filled by June 30.
Cool, we should know in the next few days if Hoy is a chance then.

Su’A for me
Thanks.

You’re too good to us! Great consolidation of the cheapies floating around.
A must read for anyone unsure on their cheapies.
Awesome work mate, outstanding help
Thanks so much!
Legend, thanks!
Jeez picking the correct FRF cheapies for rd1 is gonna be important so that we can use our rd3 trades elsewhere. Lots of first 17 options.
Great summary!
With Bateman not returning until round 8 does anyone see the appeal in Tapine?
I do for sure. Currently in my team over Su’A and Williams
Could be a good pod. Great draw. Think I might bring him in

Just like last year
Hess or su’a?
Hess

I think it’s a trap personally as Curran should take the spot in Rd 2
Thanks for posting.
May not pull the trigger on Katoa but does have pretty serious implications for JTB if Blair is being used in the middle rotation.
Makes me go a bit cold on JTB. With Blair rotating through prop, Paasi returning R2-3 and Tevaga R5, his minutes could take a real hit.
Katoa could be a trap, but is highly rated. Might be worth a flyer for anyone who was considering a nuff instead.
