What are peoples thoughts this early out if: Warriors – forward pack, surely risky going any of BMM, AFB etc? I like CHT though behind them and how he came into his own back end of the season, may grab GK, also haven’t looked at prices yet but interested by Maumalo again! Knights – Watson is a pick straight up if lock surely? Souths – Arrow could end up starting prop and spelling Murray at lock but lock is both their best position. Broncos – reading last few pages reports now that Pangai training middle, Haas getting less min, could… Read more »
For me, the Warriors are a definite wait and see with their abundance of quality forwards at the club next season. I started last season with CHT and got burnt from a terrible start from him but with the pack they have this year I see him putting on some decent pts. He will be hard to leave out imo if he locks in the goal kicking. With the Broncos Asiata interest me as I would imagine that he would see an increase in mins and could possibly be a good pick up with the flexibility of dual and low… Read more »
BMM not for me, AFB is another prop i’m keen on. In saying that any N Brown coached forwards can expect the resting crap Souths – i will be avoiding those 2 Bronx – enough vlue at prop to leave TP out imo Haas is still a keeper with 65+mins but il wait for him to drop a little in price. Too risky to pay up early for mine Isaako/milf pretty much a no for me, the attack would need to improve dramatically for them to be relevant. Dogs- Hetho risky but should get the mins and will be in… Read more »
Aside from cheapies and obvious guns, based on prices and potential value these are my initial players of interest: Broncos – Asiata, Lodge, Milf, Isaako, Oates. Some value around their squad but gamble as a bottom 4 side. Bulldogs – Hoppa, Heatherington. Averillo. Team on the improve to watch teamlist Canberra – CHN, James, CNK. Decent early draw for a mid range risk. Cowboys – Holmes. Mostly established SC side, SRF could be interesting. Sea Eagles – Saab, Davey, Shuster, D Walker. Tough draw but some good value options Rabbits – Host. Can’t think of anyone that isn’t a gun/established… Read more »
Don’t forget the Leilua Boys, tiges top 4
OTB….good to see you back, and still pumping up the tigers tyres
hey occy, welcome back hahhaa, tiges top 4 just saying 😛
Occy , look at Mr Hedge finishing the year off about TPJ 😛
And still on the Isaako bandwagon
il wait for the marsters hype tommorrow
On point XI, with Turbo Tom back I reckon Jake will be back amongst the top SRF’s. Underpriced imo.
Is asiata relevant because he has a Bronx Jersey on? Asking for a friend 🙂
Has not played big minutes and battled for a part time bench spot for a team that has finished down the bottom end of the ladder.
I doubt he starts and may be that ball playing fwd when he comes on and that is sc poison,
agree , i think they have enough workhorses and asiata most likely ball playing
i would have picked him if he went to manly
Very nice to have so many centres DPP (Holmes, Hoppo, Talakai etc). FB again looks the lottery again. I think Teddy can wait (said the same thing last year and it took so long to finally get him in) but hoping to start with Turbo and Paps. If Laurie starts at FB for the Tigers will he get to keep his FRF DPP? Is he also DPP centre? I can’t believe that opportunity was wasted last year! (yet another reason to hate Ivan Cleary). Anyone know where we can see prices if you aren’t a paid up member?
I am not a paid member but have been accessing team picker through the daily telegraph after typing in NRL Supercoach 2021 and once I access the page after the first paragraph I press on team picker and it brings up my SC account and I have been able to make a team and see prices.
Hope that helps
I tried that many many times. A circle just goes round and round then nothing happens. Lucky you!
It was doing that to me at first but after I created a new Supercoach account I tried again and it worked for me from then on.
Wow! It worked. I rerehistered withva non existent email address and it worked! Bravo and Merry Christmas wayne
Damn, no it didn’t!
Spewing!! The only thing I think that I did after creating a new account was that I went into a blocked SC article which it recognised and had up my name in the corner of the screen, it wanted me to join up but I left the page and returned to the team picker page and it worked from that point on. Really hope you can get it working!! If it worked for me somehow hopefully it can work for you as well. As I know when I first couldn’t get into SC team picker I was spewing that the… Read more »
Long Post Alert! I see the site is back up and working… Nice. Or perhaps it was just me. All I’ve been getting the past 6 weeks is a blank white screen. Mods, any chance of getting Wenin to implement dark mode for the site? Not sure if WordPress offer it. Awesome if they did. I’ve noticed a few people talkin’ ’bout big Tino. I reckon he’s not worth a starting spot in SC. I can’t see him reaching any great SC heights. The dual status is interesting, but I think I’d rather get a dual nuff and spend the… Read more »
Pennies should stay a top 4 team. Young and have improvement in them
If i were to pick a team or 2 to slide out then eels and raiders would be my 2.
Raiders losing bateman and cotric will test them in those tight games
Eels will be under the pump imo, arthurs should be under pressure after last seasons fade. Losing Jennings could hurt them . opacic and sivo together has abit of BJ nojo about it
Agree. I think Tino is worth a crack. So dangerous close to the line regardless of who is feeding him. Who knows cam might be a titan 😉
So what are the lock in options looking like for everyone?
.
For me Klemmer, Crichton, Matterson, Munster and Turbo seem like set and forget even this early on.
Grant, Cleary, Turbo, Lolo and McInnes for me at this point.
Penrith overall worry me slightly heading into next season so im not overly keen on Cleary at the moment
With Penrith facing off against The Cowboys (home) and Bulldogs (away) to start the season compared to Manly and DCE who is the next best option in my opinion going up against The Roosters (away) and The Rabbitohs (home). For me I personally see Cleary getting off to a better start then DCE but I could be completely wrong and DCE scores better over the first two rounds compared to Cleary. I also see cleary as a set and forgot regardless if the Panthers didn’t go as well this coming season. Personally I think the Panthers are still a top… Read more »
Grant & Turbo are the only two I’m willing to say are certainties to be in my team come Round 1 (Assuming CS9 retires and Turbo is fit)
Grant is my only lock in , that;s assuming Cam is leaving
flock and the bias against players he doesnt have in his team appearing early hahahaa
flock klemmer avg 57 mins which is standard for most gun forwards.
His first 2 games he only played 49 and 48 mins for his 70+ avg 🙂
He basically avg 70 until the last 5 games when the knights season took a turn
Look at his stats over the first 14 rounds and mins played , only 2 games where he played 65 and 80 mins . stop it 🙂
Yeah I like Klemmer too but he’s definitely not guaranteed to be in my side.
I’d say at this point it’s only really Matterson, Munster and Turbo locked in.
One of Grant/McInnes is a certainty and definitely one of Cleary/DCE will be there.
If they both start fullback and edge respectively, I can’t see myself without Hoppa or CHN either.
Fingers crossed CHN gets the starting spot!
It’s more of a gut feeling selection with no real statistical evidence to back it up nor the calculation of the mins rotation in the forward pack.
.
Personally think Newcastle are on the up and after missing Origin I wouldn’t be surprised to see Klemmer hit a hot run of form in response to that.
.
Perhaps not a lock in but he’s a strong consideration for me
Occy another hedge before the season is out 😛
My favourite time of sc year. All potential and thousands of decisions and tinkering before March next year. First draft:
Grant Watson
Haas Tino Hetherington Uto
Crichton Matterson CHN Ford Blore Saddler
Cleary Walker
Munster Schuster
Holmes Averillo Hoppoate Saab Tuipoluto BTurbo Sualli
Ted Staines
I like the look of Turbo, Hynes, Laurie (if he moves in 2021), SCrichton, Capewell (if he starts 2RW.
What are people’s thoughts on RJames at raiders this year? Will he get the starting spot and be of value?
Lui stepped up last year, horse coming back, Tapine/Young likely lock rotation, soliola as well. Can he see decent min to be of value? Dual frf/2rf. Would also be good if CHN gets the edge role.
Lucky to make it onto the bench. Has played very little game time last 2 seasons and most likely to need time to build match fitness .Total avoid for me
He may need some match fitness but he seems to be in excellent physical condition.
.
Might be a bit of a slow start but given a few weeks it wouldn’t be surprising to see him secure a starting spot
Will be one to watch but I can’t see him having more than a bit part role similar to Tamou last year at Penrith. James seems to be the direct replacement for Soliola in terms of experience and leadership.
Papali’i and Horse are the two big enforcers and Tapine/Lui will be in there somewhere too. Throw Hudson in the mix and I think James is an avoid early on unless there are injuries.
With Panthers missing Tamou will JFH play bigger minutes in the middle early on?
Doubt it, can see Lenui getting more min
Wouldn’t Leota get the starting spot over Leniu?
Most likely, but the other prop and hetherigton are gone so should mean decent min from the bench, and he has big wraps. Interesting to see where capwell fits.
Could go either way, both are more than capable of filling that spot, fingers crossed it’ll be Leniu.
Any love for Alex Twal?
He is definitely an interesting option for me with the dual flexibility. I am just uncertain what type of mins he would be expecting this coming season. Any idea what to roughly expect DT in terms of Twal’s potential mins and do you think Ofa will have any impact on his mins?
Twal could be starting FRF or lock or No 15. I suspect he’ll be starting FRF or lock but certainly no extra minutes.
Ofa’s best performances over recent years were off the bench. I can’t imagine the Tigers signed him to play bench though. With Eiso gone I think the 13 role is perfect for Twal who has a big engine and Madge earmarked for the spot last season pre-injury. The real question is just how many mins he plays and that probably depends on guys like Mikaele, Musgrove, Tamou etc. If I were picking the side it would be: 8 Tamou 10 Mikaele 13 Twal 15 Ofa 16 Musgrove 17 Uto/MCK From what I have read, I think the most likely outcome… Read more »
Don’t think he’ll get the minutes with the new additions to the forward pack.
.
Probably a wait and see how their pack shapes up come the beginning of the season.
Yeah concerned what joes role is, if lock or middle rotation, they have tamau, twal, joe, mikaele, musgrove and uto. Uto already had big wraps.
yep uto is going to take twals spot , get on uto
twal is rubbish, past his best
Huh? He’s 24yo.
im taking the piss. The SC guru is saying he will lose mins but i find it hard to believe that our leader up front loses mins to the young guns.
tough draw to start so he would be needed on the field as long as possible, tamou doesnt play big mins and the rest are rookies.
why does he need extra mins?
He came back early from a MCL , before that he scored well and played good mins.
there is also an injury affected game in there.
65min twal is underpriced without offloads and attacking stats
Another thing to add is how he scored before grant and after grant. no more grant means 2 hookers which should mean more mins for twal .
AND before his injury he AVG 71 in 71 mins 🙂
You put up stats that suit your argument, twal is the main prop and will get mins
that injury was because a prop landed on him , stop it ! lol
did tiges have a 80 min hooker when eisen came back?
And who is a threat for twal’s mins this season?
Tamou isnt a big min player and the rest are rookies.
If we have a bench of say simpkins, mikaele , blore/musgrove/uto who threatens twal mins?
this is why twal got injured , not because of his heavy workload. He has Haas motor so please stop it 🙂
He’s at the same price point as Tino and also DPP. I’m not for a second arguing he’s a better option than Tino but I think he’s a worthy comparison considering how he started last season. As OTB mentioned, Twal is the main man of the tigers pack and at 24yo he’s only going to be more involved. It’s clear he has an engine and Madge wants him on the field. We could discuss until the cows come home whether or not Tino will be a success at the Titans but if he goes into the middle rotation with MoFo,… Read more »
They signed the both of them because they lost Aloiai and Eisenhuth
Ofa is rubbish. Tamou wasn’t wanted by Penrith. Both are impact players who generally don’t play many minutes. One of them will have to replace Aloiai’s minutes at the very least.
Let’s wait and see the R1 line up but I suspect you’ll change your tune if Twal is named at 13.
flock comparing a ferrari to a datsun now haahah
I said Matulino but I meant Taylor. My bad.
Yes, I think even if he was trash the Tigers would sign him. They were desperate for middle forwards and I’m pretty sure the Broncos subsidised his wages to get rid – as you say they have better options.
Despite Lodge being out and TPJ being suspended, Ofa wasn’t getting big minutes last season because he was playing poorly. They had young guys Haas and Carrigan playing 80min and used the likes Bullemor, Kennedy and Hopoate they were so desperate for options.
uto signed 265k a season over 3 years, a million lol flock stop it !!
why are you comparing tino and twal?
compare twal to klemm haas , like for like but at a cheaper price
now twal is behind tamou and Offa BAHAHAHAA. flock stop it hahha focus on your poor NBA score
twals first 5 games before injury struck are great numbers.
Put your bias aside , twal is underpriced and is the tiges leader . offa wont take his mins and neither will any young kid . tamou doesnt get more than 50 either…. TWAL for PM 🙂
Can someone please talk me out of Milford?
Any love for C Oates as a CTW not in my 17? Provided the speculation he will play some 2nd row are true anyway. Could be a good money maker at his price
Broncos first 6 games are Eels (h) Titans (a) Bulldogs (h) Storm (a) Bunnies (a) Panthers (h) not an easy run imo where someone like Watson who is cheaper could be starting 13 for the knights and they play Bulldogs (h) Warriors (a) West (h) dragons (h) Titans (a) Sharks (h) For me, I would definitely go someone like Watson over Milford and if you are keen on the milf a good idea would be to wait 2 rds before price changes to see if Walters can be the Milf whisper once more and bring out the best in him… Read more »
Would definitely be keen on Watson if he gets the spot. Heard various reports of yes and no so fingers crossed trials make it clear
I think he is a real option. Training at fullback and in a contract year.
He’s not training at fullback though, where did you get your misguided information?
I had him last year and it took me far to many weeks to get rid of him…Save yourself heartache , a price drop , and a trade…Leave him out of your side.
Thoughts on NAS & Luke Thompson? Two FRFs who I expect will be PODs at the start but could offer value this season.
Just a heads up Thompson will be suspended for the first month of the season

well balanced side , nice one
Great first attempt, but way too much money in the CTWs for my liking.
Nice side,
Similar to my initial draft. I like papy, scored great back end of last year. Cht, similar and looks set to be his team with GK, turbo is just too cheep to pass up.
I am interested in these picks:
– Welch
– KK
– BMM
– Kelly (what edge is he on? Who is inside him?)
I like to wish you all a Merry Christmas, here’s hoping for a better year for all.
merry christmas
who kicks for roosters gents?
TKO maybe?
I was thinking possibly Manu? Or hopefully Walker?
I think with TKO not being an 80 min player the Roosters might look to establish a full-time Goal kicker to help chopping and changing the goal kicker with each game. I could be wrong but it will be interesting to see who the Roosters go with this coming season.
When TKO is not on the field maybe Tede or Lam?
It would be great to see Tede kicking!! Lam is another one I didn’t consider.
Interesting to see that Keary has been given dual hfb & 5/8 for 2021. Does that mean the Roosters are going to switch him to the no7 position to allow them to play someone Keighran or Hutchison at 6 and not have the responsibility of being the main organiser of the team?
What about the storm, who goal kicks for them? Munster?
I was hoping Papenhuyzen. He’d be close to a must-have if he’s kicking goals fulltime.
Lets look @ the Panthers draw –
1/ 8 out of the first 10 games are @ night.( 5 home games.)
2/ Play the 1st bye round which includes 4 straight Friday night games.
3/ They play Storm,Eels,Roosters & Bunnies twice but r15 v Roosters & r16 v Eels are over origin.
Its worth noting they play Trent Barrett’s B/dogs twice as well.
Their first 3 games against the Cowboys,B/dogs & Storm will be interesting.
Any thoughts.
WWL!
And we’re back! Yay. Any early thoughts on something along these lines? Would love some feedback as I don’t feel like the overall balance is right here… Grant / Watson* Tino, Ofahengaue / Hetherington, Faamausili Crichton, Matterson,Lolo / CHN*, Riki, Blore* Williams / Walker CHT / Schuster Lomax, Talakai, Stains, Simonsson / Fusitu’a, Tuipolotu, Saab Brimson / Turbo* People have been talking up DCE getting the goal kicking but Williams will also take over the duties at the Raiders for the first few weeks. But obviously weak in the halves without Cleary or Munster. I think there is value in… Read more »
Look’s a good first draft
Risky halve’s but i don’t mind it.
As for brimson , i wouldn’t be going there personally
What are your thoughts on Brimson OTB?
GUN but i can’t justify spending that amount of cash on him especially with turbo being cheaper.
I think he is a round 8 target once he drops some cash, i would be happy spending 580k on him then
i might have had a look if turbo and papy RTS and co were dearer , Pass from me
Merry Christmas supercoaches! Early days at the moment. Looking at your opinions and thoughts, thinking of running a front Row combination of AFB (528,000) and Christian Whelch (453,500). Whelch ended the season with a 5rd avg of 67 when he started getting 55min a game and went on to have a fairly decent origin series and his currently priced at only 51avg due to limited minutes at the start of the year. Hopefully he should be able to maintain the minutes with Tino moving on the Titans as well ? I’m hoping AFB with an uninterrupted preseason and a fresh… Read more »
Merry Christmas , For me it’s a No on welch, i will have to have a proper look but from memory Finucane didn’t play most the back end. Also that last storm game i remember they basically had a reggies team out there, maybe someone can confirm the forward pack but im pretty sure welch was the only first grader of note. Would need to see how many mins welch played when finucane came back in the finals, dale did start off the bench too He does have potential but if Bsmith and finucane are back then i don’t think… Read more »
During the regular season there were only 7 games where both Finucane & Welch started. Welch average minutes were 41 (includes a 9 minute game (HIA I’m guessing) and a 26 minute game)) for an average score of 46. Finucane average minutes were 59 for an average score of 54. Welch’s average minutes for the regular season were 43. Finucane’s average minutes for the regular season were 57. Dunno if this info helps or not. Big Tino played all rounds except for round 20 and he averaged 46 minutes per game. Kamikamika only played 5 games with an average minutes… Read more »
People are forgetting about Kamikaze who was out most of the year
full strength would have finucane at 13 who you have playing 57mins
NAS wont lose mins
kamikazee (would played decent mins and was a capable starter before the injury)
Bsmith will play good mins
Like i posted before they seemed to have had players like eisen Shlong and co who prob only played 20 mins
But im not the coach and dont know what he is thinking but one would think kamikazee gets his mins back
Love watching AFB but I can’t go near him this season especially with that Warriors depth.
The other factor is the coach makes it unlikely they make the 8 in my eyes.
Im a Storm fan and I am reluctant to touch anyone in the middle rotation. Full strength, the pack is likely:
JBrom, Welch, KBrom, Kaufusi, Finucane – then add in NAS, Kami and BSmith who are all middles.
If I had to take a punt on anyone, it would maybe be KBrom as a mid ranger as HGrant didn’t mind a short ball to a 2RW
Time has come to comment on my Roosters draw –
1/ The first 5 games look good.( r1 Manly,r2 Tigers,r4 Warriors r5 the Sharks.Round 3 could be an exception against the Rabbitohs – its going to be hard to leave out Teddy & co here.)
2/ Up until their 1st bye in r13,we only play 4 home games @ the scg & 1 on the c/coast.
which isnt great.
3/ The draw from r14 – r25 is mostly against good opposition.
In summary,we dont have the pressure this season of winning 3 straight premierships like 2020.
Go the Roosters…….
If cam Smith retires and BSmith gets an early release , can you fit in Bsmith ?
where would you fit Bsmith in considering there would be cook/grant/simpkins-liddle/watson…….
Would you cut a backrower like matto/angus/lolo or would you cut a 5/8 or fullback, might get tricky if this happen’s.
I know it’s only a hypothetical but surely there’s a very little chance of that happening
