The 2021 Team Picker has launched, therefore the 2021 SuperCoach season is officially underway! Use this forum as your main discussion thread for all things SuperCoach.
Think I will stick with this for the next week or so, at least until this weekend`s trials are done and dusted. Watson / Liddle Ofa, Lodge / Hola, Uto Crichton, Matterson, BMM / Riki*, Kolo (if he ends up starting obviously), Simpkins Cleary / CHT* Munster / Lam (with goalkicking)* Lomax, Kelly, Averillo, Niu / Saab, Laurie, Simonsson Tedesco / Brimson* Things I am happy with: Good strength in the halves Dual gun fullbacks Pretty sure my CTW will be stronger than most Good flexibility with duals (Watson/Lam, BMM/Ofa and then CHT as dual HB / 5/8 and Averillo… Read more »
There are two. Simpkin is the hooker who will likely start on the bench. Simpkins is a second rower who make get a start round 1 with the injuries to Blore and Musgrove.

Lads what are your thoughts on the keary injury situation? Hammies are a tough one and will be pushing it to be fit for rd1, also high risk reinjury rate. Does this make Teddy less appealing as the main half could potentially be out?
Yeah, Roosters are expecting him to play in R1. If he doesn’t who replaces him? I was hearing Hutchinson ahead of Walker but (SC wise) it would be nice if Walker found his way into the side. In regards to Teddy you would think the combinations would be some what effected.
Yep, I don’t think the combinations being effected doesn’t necessarily mean Teddy’s SC points will drop.

I am going with Teddy and don’t have enough for a second gun FLB, who out of the players below offer the best value
Whoppa ( solid at best )
Isaako ( capable but Broncos )
Moylan ( how long will he last )
Laurie ( if starting will go with him )
Hoy ( Ponga )
Niu ( not keen )
Anyone else?
Hoy has the biggest ceiling of all of them and not available in ctw. Knights have the best opening draw and he will be goal kicking. Just hope Ponga doesn’t come back early.
OK I know it’s just a trial, but unless HTF has been on the HGH how is he a good call for a center spot? I get the Val-wing, Drink-fb experimenting, but why name one of your smallest wingers who specializes in speed and try scoring in a position more suited for tackle-busting, offloading Best/Staggs/BJ types?? Marsters is literally the last named. Marsters was terrible last year, but surely more suited than HTF?
Could be madness, but also could be a masterstroke?
I assume the thought behind it is to give him early ball allowing him to utilise his speed and agility more often in opportunistic areas.
.
As for his build I don’t actually mind it, reminds me somewhat of Campbell Graham albeit not as tall however a bit lanky and sort of awkward frame works quite well at centre.
.
Maybe too soon in his career for the shift into centre? Only time will tell but at the moment I think it could work.

Is anyone keen on Tapine? Priced at 62 average, but averaged 71 in the last 4 games once he cemented the starting 13 role. I had a look at his finals games too and they were impressive. Looks like he tonned up against the Sharks and Roosters and got around 65-70 in base+power against Melbourne in a soundly beaten team. Only plays around 45-50 mins so no reason to think he will get reduced minutes. Looks like he can score well both sides of the ball so will score well when losing and breaks tackles, offloads and can find the… Read more »

Read on another forum that Su’A is carrying an injury and is in doubt for the first 2 rounds.
True, but, Su’A lines up on the right, if Keaon lines up on the left and Host on the right for those 2 rounds then that is a good indication that Keaon has won the spot on the left and Host is filling in for Su’A

Good side. We all have to make compromises unfortunately – yours is FRF and HOK.
I thought it was Jake Simpkins (HOK) who was pushing for a role week 1 not the 2RF. Should check

I really like Hoy in that list, but has anyone any idea when Ponga is back?
The pong is back between rounds 4-6, so hoy should see at least one price rise, hopefully 2-3

Read on another forum that Su’A is carrying an injury and is in doubt for the first 2 rounds.
This could be good news for KK.
It also means that when Su’a returns you are unsure if he keeps his starting spot. I think it’s best if players are named in their team’s top 17.
But KK is firming as a great cheapie.

This also came out a few days ago –
https://www.sportingnews.com/au/league/news/keaon-koloamatangi-south-sydney-rabbitohs-nrl-2021/151vw9pan1gih189vxiod48603
Just watch the charity shield, kk named in Sua’s jersey, host in the 12.
I didn’t notice that. That’s unfortunate, I was really excited on the prospect of Keaon as well. Not only for Supercoach but as a player.
Just a wait and see on how it plays out in the CS.
I’ll back him to secure the starting spot if he gets 2 chances to impress
