I’m currently considering Mann, only because he.’s a cheapish CTW. He’ll probably play 5/8, but is he worth it?

Priced at an average of 30 there’s only upside

    Probably. Little job security though.

I don’t see the appeal. He’s been tried at 5/8 before with limited success. Chances are he doesn’t hold down the role long. Who knows Connor Watson may be moves back there

I can’t see how he is in any fg side tbh!

He’s a great utility player, same as Hampton.
I doubt he holds his spot

    Here’s a breakdown of the games he played 5/8: r10 v Drags – 69 points, 1 try, 30 base, 70min, 0.99PPM r11 v Chooks – 29 points, 34 base, 80min, 0.36 PPM r16 v Storm – 37 points, 34 base, 80min,0.46PPM r 18 v Chooks, 45 points, 35 base, 80min, 0.56PPM r19 v Tigs, 35 points, 31 base, 80min, 0.44PPM 37 in three games against two of the top teams in the comp Combined average of 43 Base average 33. That’s a great stat. The issue is I don’t see him holding his spot. he can get punted to the bench at any time and be a 25min specialist

Job security is the big issue but that’s pretty common with cheap options in general.

Wait for TLT but I suspect their bench utility (Watson/Lino) will be mostly used to relieve JBrailey.

Inconsistency in the knights spine killed them last season. I think they’ve got to learn from that and pick and stick regardless of who it is (already saying SC prayers that it won’t be Lino).

I agree about job security but I’d accept that on a basement priced back, not a 286k veteran.
There may be little choice at that price anyway haha

i’m iffy only becuase the coach loves crossland and if knights lose the first couple then i reckon mann will be the scapegoat . Might be similar with dogs and wakeham.

if he wasn’t such a good utility i would be more keen but he is like staggs and aubbo and even watson.

In saying taht maybe crossland isnt u[ for a full season and play later on , 50/50 at this stage

You can say that there isn’t much upside but those are some tough fixtures in which he was thrown into with no pre season at 5/8. If he truly is 5/8 from the get go he will have trained all this pre season for it so you would expect a big improvement. Add in a softer draw than over half your games against Chooks/Melb and you have a good potential player in your midst.

This would be his first full preseason training at 5/8 I think so he has that going for him at least.
Last year he trained to play hooker, previous years would’ve been fullback/wing/centre.

Aside from injury concerns is there any reason Moylan can’t average 55+? Is he still the same player he was at Panthers? Seriously considering banking on him having a healthy year.

Having owned him previously there is zero chance I’ll consider him again. If you’re taking that sort of gamble you’re better off with Brimson.

Agree, Brimson much better option than Moylan. He is eager to impress

I was tempted. Only 4 halves in top 20 scorers last year. Likely I pick the wrong one so thought of throwing cAution to the wind and playing Brimson and Williams as my starting halves with cheapies as bench.

I thought the same thing last year and started with him, don’t do it to yourself lol I won’t own him again

On the subject of halves: 5/6 opening games for the Tigers are against bottom 8 sides from 2019.
Last year Brooks averaged 67 vs bottom 8 teams but priced at 58 avg.
Good POD to capitalise on their draw? He combined really well with Garner last year when he came back from injury. Could he also step up attacking responsibility without Farah?

    Probably the best POD

Brooks is too awkwardly priced. Would take a brave person for 530ish to take the plunge

Decent POD but only 40k less than Moses who has just as good a draw, plays for a better team and kicks goals.

I’d have Moses too. This is for the fourth slot beside Moses, Luai and Williams who I think are all must haves.

Moylan is so capable of a good average but can let you down so easily. I like him as a mid season pickup who you can play on match ups. Moylan as a starting 5/8 in SC isn’t stable enough imo. Sharks have plenty of creative hands to feed aswell so his performances will never be consistent.

I paint Moylan with the same brush as Nathan Brown. Hard pass, too injury prone. The money you make you’ll probably lose with the trade to take his injured …. Out!

Beau Fermor signed with titans 3 yr deal. Walking out on knights. Could he get an edge spot?

Heard of him? Supposedly did his acl last season.

Played for qld under 20s, knights player of the year in jersey Flegg.

What side does he prefer as sure proctor and carty play the same side?

Yeah big shame he did his ACL, but touted for major development. Have had his name penned in the black book for 2 years now

    Believe he plays left

Good to see J Curran’s name , i mentioned him a few weeks back .

Fifi and Cody underdone? less tempting now.

James to play big mins , this might help me decide the ACL worry for me.

Simmonson another who might be keen on

Ponga and more…….. almost footy time!!
