Nick Meaney ($281,500, FLB) looks set to start at fullback for the Bulldogs in 2019, with Will Hopoate shifting into the centres to cover for the departure of Josh Morris.

Meaney hardly set the comp on fire for the Knights last year filling in when Kalyn Ponga was injured, he was in and out of the side, playing in rounds 18 and 19, and then again in rounds 23, 24 and 25. However, he will undoubtedly benefit from an uninterrupted run in the #1 jersey.
There were no injury affected games for Meaney and in his five played in 2018 he played the full 80 minutes. With scores of 23, 60 (try), 37, 49 (try) and 19, his base stats were minimal, to say the least. He can kick goals, however, this won’t be needed at the Bulldogs with both Holland and Martin in the side.
He does start the season priced at a 25% discount on his 2018 average of 37.6, starting the season priced at around a 30.1 ppg average, due to the limited number of games played last year. It’s a very tempting price for a starting fullback.
Meaney is potentially a POD option to partner either Tedesco or Turbo at FLB to start the year with the possibility of an average 50+ ppg, if he does get the starting gig. However, he will need to improve on his base output of just 21 bppg.
